Full Version: How much/ how often is progesterone needed to protect uterus on cyclical HRT therapy?

I recently started on E on days 5-25 and P on days 21-25. Previously I’ve had a hard time tolerating P, but this is a different form for a shorter time so I am hopeful.

I do still have a uterus and was wondering how often P has to be added to protect the uterus. I know there are now some BCP;s where you only get a period every three months. Would something like this be safe for HRT and uterus protection? I am really not looking forward to having a regular cycle again but I don’t want to take continuous P either.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I just started on BHRT. My doctor told me that I will be taking P on days 1-12 to protect my uterus but that after the first 3 months when we hope to have stabilised my hormones I will then only have to take it every third month. How come your doctor hasn't discussed this with you?
