I have developed some heartburn problems and have been having some pain when I try to eat hard breads or meats. It hurts like it is going down the wrong tube. I also have developed severe gas and bloating and belch all the time. It doesn't happen all the time but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with swallowing hard foods, it also feels like it is stuck. I am worried about all of these weird new gastro symptoms that I have developed lately.

I'm not experiencing what you're going thru and I'm sorry your suffering. I can only suggest you see your doctor and get this looked into.
Keep us posted.

Please go and see the doc because I bet my bottom dollar you have GERD (google that). If you are getting food stuck, and pain, you could have an inflamed oesophagus and its important that you start on the drugs to fix it, better still, have an endoscopy to see exactly what's going on down there. I'm lined up for a stomach scope next week and have been doing my research, and I really think you should do the same. Have a look at my thread here about GERD, there are some good links and advice from folks here. It may be possible for you to control your symptoms with lifestyle/dietary changes, but for now, you need to see the doc. let us know how you get on.

Yes, it does sound like GERD and I agree with chico that you see the doctor to get the diagnosis. You'll feel much better know for sure that this is what it is.
In the meantime, avoid coffee, tomato, wine, chocolate (if you check out any GERD web site there will be a list of trigger foods to avoid) and try some Pepcid AC or any extra strength OTC acid reducer. Actually if you're in the States you can buy Prilosec OTC (here in Canada, it's prescription). It might help in the meantime, but you should see the doc to make sure it is
GERD.
I is usually easy to manage with meds.
Good luck.
