I wanted to ask if you all could reassure me here. This is a new symptom. The past few days have had my hear rate high.......I feel like my heart is trying to beat out of my chest! I'm on the computer now because I just woke up with it......it's not a massively high heartrate but I'm on a beta blocker (for migraine prevention) and have been for 20 some odd years and have NEVER dealt with this type of heart racing. My resting heartrate is anywhere from 59-68 .....and now it's up in the 80's.
I know that's not real high for for me on a beta blocker it is. My heart jumps once in awhile, too.
I've had PCV's....and been checked out but it's been a few years. I even had an echo and holter monitor hookup a few years ago......all normal.

I've also noticed I get full on red faced flushes.......ears burning...ears ringing.
Lasting up to an hour or more. On and off ALL day and night.

I'm thinking of seeing the doctor but I can't take HRT due to family history and this is just so damn uncomfortable I am trying to figure out what I can do to slow my heart rate down. It does go down to normal but a few hours later........there we go again.

Peri symptom ? Palps??
Thanks ladies.....my gut tells me I'm in the worst of peri right now as far as physical symptoms...
My bp goes up and down all day long. Drives me nuts.

This is all new and any relating or advice is greatly appreciated.

Hugs,
Sue

Sorry for my typos... ...I'm uncomfortable right now.

And if I had heart problems...wouldn't my heart rate STAY high and never go back to normal? The old Health Anxiety has kicked in making this whole thing so much worse........
I am not a happy camper right now. I'm going to try a glass of milk....see if that helps.

I've periodically had the fast HR and found that a few things seem to trigger it. But one thing I hadn't considered initially but have since found to be a real factor is dehydration.

I hadn't been drinking much water, and after reading a book about how so many people are chronically dehydrate and don't even realize it, and that it is the underlying cause of many heath ailments, I made it a point to drink no less than 8 glasses/day. I would wake up and immediately drink 2 large ones, and space the rest out the rest of the day. After a few days the HR decreased and after a couple weeks it went away completely, plus I felt so much better. I know it seems like a simplistic answer to what seems like a serious issue, but it's best to try the simple things first before immediately suspecting a more serious cause. And if it doesn't work, then you have ruled that out and can consider other possibilities. And other liquids don't count, it must me water.

Also, when my ferritin was low (a measure of iron storage) my hr would increase. Taking iron stopped it at that time.

Low estrogen for me triggers adrenaline surges, which increases the hr. Something else to consider.

Thank you SO much, I really appreciate the info! I'll give it a try. I don't drink enough water so it's very possible that is what's happening. At one time I drank toooo much and ended up in the ER. Water Intoxication. Who woulda thunk. tongue.gif My GERD was acting up and the water was soothing..I had no clue and kept drinking it to ease the pain..... Now I know spacing out the amount of water to be consumed during the day is very important.

Thank you ...much appreciate the information!

Hugs,
Sue
