Thanks Ladies, I had positive results but, it's a little scarey.. of course, most women I talk to think bioidenticals are scarey to use.

Dear 'kackle'
Have to honestly admit I know nothing about this.May I ask the reason why you take it?

I am on HRT,which many ladies would not want, but it works for me.All Meds. carry a degree of risk so one has to make up his own mind.

Wishing You Well

I have malabsorption. My diet is very limited due to constant diahrea(17 yrs.). Of course because of this I have many health issues. I also do a weekly I.V. with vitamins and iron and my stored ferritin does not move from a ten(unless it goes down, it's a 7now). After many years of many different doctors I ended up going to an integrative M.D. I have felt much better since I've been seeing him for 6 yrs. but still not being able to absorb nutrition from food. Now of course my hormones are changing and throwing things off even worse. He wants to try and heal my gut so I can eat a better diet and obviously feel better. I did feel a hell of a lot better when I used it but when I increased the amt. my hands started aching(side effect of HGH sometimes). It went away when I went off of it. BUt, it's funny because I had a bad shoulder and ankle from an injury as a child that had always bothered me and that healed when I did the HGH.
I'm in the middle of a bout with body aches and pains, except for my shoulder and ankle. I had some great workouts when I did the HGH, I do lite yoga but I toned very quickly. I have adrenal issues so i can't exercise too hard and I easily lose weight. My stomach has been about 25 %better also. It's like anything--like you said---their are risks. My quality of life hasn't been very good and I'm willing to take some risks.

I am sorry, have they figured out if it is your adrenals to blame, seems like you have some ulverative colitis going on there, not? weight loss and diarrhea typical for adrenal insufficiency/falure type of thigs, lack of cortisol causes damage to intestinal villies, so you can't absorb nutrients. Have you tried L-glutamine supplements, it is recommended to heal the intestines.
But i also wonder, with body aches and pains, that are also due to low adrenal function, have you thought of fibromyalgia type of diet, giving up grains completely, perhaps small amount of white rice, and making nutritional broth, slow simmered with some meat, chicken, or fish, perhaps can help your digestion.
if you feel better on HGH, it could be that you suffer from some hypopituitary function that does not produce enough ACTH, well, sorry I am sure your doctor addressed this already.
I think you got responses from women thinking you use HGH to lose weight, tone up, and look younger, but it seems that you have real pituitary/adrenal thing going on, so you perhaps will benefit.
There are indeed side effects from HGH, i work for company who first started syntesize them, and injections were given to childrens Dx with hypopiruitary drawfism, and some adults with pitutary issues, some women with very low bone density used it for severe osteoporosis, HGH is a fontain of youth, but it may come with a hefty price, but again, nothing is risk free.
There are no risk free medications and of course hormones are one of them, but you have to do what works, malabsorbtion itself can cause more problems than HGH.
Regards,
I.

THanks for the reply. I due have an adrenal problem and do take the glutamine twice a day. My doctor has been hesitant to give me cortef, but said he will try a dusting of it after I do some more tests. Ya, I don't want to lose weight as I am very thin. Even when using bioidentical testosterone my tested levels come back as below recordable. So, I'm kind of existing on very little hormones. I'm not sure what the answer is but doing nothing isnt' an option. I've spent a lot of time at home being sick and I don't want to go back to that. I'm using a very small amount of HGH at the moment because I am highly sensitive to everything. I'd like to make that broth you're talking about tho. My diet is terrible because I cannot tolerate fruit or vegetables. The sugar and the roughage kill me. I don't eat grains either. I eat a lot of chicken and recently I have been able to tolerate peanut butter, which is a huge deal.

I am puzzled why your dr.hesitant to Rx you cortef, if you have diarrhea and can't tolerate fruits and veggies, it indeed points to ulcerative colitis, which is normally treated with cortisol.
Without adequate cortisol, your digestion won't get better, neither will your fibromyalgia symptoms, which could be both related to adrenal issues.
The nutritional broth made with good soup bones, lots of herbs, root vegetables ( you can toss it all after it is done), let it simmer for long time, better overnight, and add a splash of vinegar to extract mode minerals from bone.
You can add chicken also, this broth and the meat can resurect the dead, as Chinese say. smile.gif
I came across fibromyalgia diet once, and it was recommended to minimize carbs, avoid sugars, and completely avoid whole grains.
What about fats like real butter, it is known to heal intestines, I am not sure if yo can toletate plain yougurt.
Butter contains bityric acid, which feeds beneficial bacteria, same in aged cheese like parmesan.
I would try to subside on proteina nd animal fat, only natural, for the most part, and avoid all veggies, fruit, nuts, and see if your symptoms improve.
You may get better by the dietary changes alone, but I believe you may give cortef a try, you need cortisol to heal your digestion and to stop the fibro. Interesting that your doctor is hesitant to give you cortef but is not afraid of HGH, unless I am missing something here. I hope you get your answer soon.
Good luck,
I.

I'm not exactly sure why he hasn't suggested cortef. I do not have ulcerative colitis though. It started with a bug infection in my stomach and a very bad reaction to the flagyl i had to take to kill it off. I can't tolerate dairy except i can have buttter, but no yogurt. For the most part my fibromyalgia had subsided except around my periods and just recently came back after going off and on progesterone. I will askk him next month why he hasn't suggested the cortef. He doesn't like straight estradiol either. He uses it in a vaginal cream (which is awesome!) but the estrogen he compounds I believe is all estriol(not sure if theirs some estrodiall in there) In the spring of last year he started having me take carafate(stomach medicine) four times a day and it has litterally has changed my life. I still can't tolerate those foods but the diahrea is 80 percent better. I had fancy expensive blood test that cost 1000 dollars that showed all the food I couldn't tolerate and I think it shocked him. He told me he had to think long and hard before he figured out I should be on the carafate, right after that I started the HGH. So, it may be the combination that's working for me. He his definately not afraid of the HGH, but he is strongly against any statin drugs. He says that all illness in the body is caused by inflammation and that's what should be treated first. I've learned to listen to my heart and then take what I feel is best for me. My heart tells me I'll be ok on this. You're very informative and I will definately make that soup. I read about it a long time ago on a irritable bowel syndrome board. Thank You so much for sharing, it gives me hope.

I forgot to ad and ask you if you've heard of live cell adrenal. I have also done that. I couldn't remember if you had adrenal fatigue also. People at his office love this stuff. I had a reaction to it so I will wait and try it again at another date.

I see, I was under impression you had AF going on, so your doctor seems to be right on money. I do agree that all illnesses linked to systemic inflamation, and that pure estradiol is not the best thing, and that vaginal hormones are the best delivery method. Progesterone as you mentioned in regards to fibromyalgia, is inedeed linked, I get fibro symptoms before my perido always, the flu-like and general feeling of being unwell.

Do you have deodenum ulcer, if your dr. put you on carafate, it is used to treat deodenum ulcers mostly. Statins are evil, but they do have antiinflamatory effect, I am nto sure how HGH treat inflamation, perhaps by supressing insulin, but you are already think, so it is not a problem.
it can be that you have some damage to intestinal walls and yes, HGH can help to heal it. I see your doctor thinks cortef can increase inflamation, in short term, it is anti-inflamatory actually.
I am not pro cortisol supplements, I am against it, but I recall you complained of weight loss, insomnia, diarrhea, so I thought you had adrenal thing going on. The live cell adrenal you mean is Adrenal Cortical Extracts, or I had done those, for short time, found it made my anxiety really bad. I don't have AF but at menopause, our adrenals overburden regardless, but Adrenal Cortical Extracts contain whole gland, meaning both cortisol and adrenalin, and I have too much of adrenalin alread.
I tried glandular but never had luck with promorphogens.
In any case, I hope your get better sooner.

I.

[/quote I do have adrenal fatigue and don't believe I have an ulcer but definately an inflamed damaged stomach. Yes, he's using the HGH to heal my gut. I didn't know the live cell therapy would cause anxiety. He must not think it does, he's knows how bad I suffer with it. I think in my case I put out too much cortisol and use reserves and then i run on empty. I don't know as much about this as you do obviously. ANy other thoughts would be appreciated
