Has anyone tried BHRT pellet therapy and if so could you relay your experience? Also are there any benefits/disadvantages of using it over compounded creams? Would like to know any good or bad experiences and more info on this type of treatment.

I know there were one or two people here who use it and swear by it. There was a discussion a couple months ago, but I can't remember who the posters were.

I do know that my doc offers it. He says that it is a great method for women who have had their ovaries removed.

Personally, I would not try it until I knew exactly how my body reacts to the hormones because once in, the pellets stays in. They cannot be taken out. If you start having trouble with too much of a good thing, you would have to "ride out the storm."

It would be convenient to not worry about creams or pills.

I have used the pellet insert for the past 5 inserts. I tried everything before this implant and nothing worked and was a nightmare. Creams, gels, sublinguals, you name it, I tried it. The pellet is the best thing I could have asked for. I love it. I do have a problem right now of period like bleeding which I don't like but did it on the creams and other things too. My doctor is trying to work through it but I can tell you I would not trade my pellets for FREE creams, gels, etc. I can't praise them enough if your going to do bhrt...I can only give my experience but it has been the best and I have no insurance so it cost me a bundle.

Hi,

I had my first pellets implanted on April 1st.....I can't believe the difference in how I feel. I went through menopause naturally at 42 (10 years ago) I have had nearly all of the menopause symptoms and tried every kind of treatment. I always had bad PMS and constant yeast infections while on HRT or BHRT. I could never take them for more than a month or two. The pellets work very well for me. I had 1 estrogen and 2 testosterone pellets and take oral progesterone. I am also taking adrenal support. I feel like a woman again, I'm sleeping without a sleeping pill, I have cut my zoloft dose in half. No yeast!! My husband and I are like honeymooners, it's great!! I am having a period this month and I'm not to crazy about that. My doctor said it's not uncommon for that to happen when someone starts on hormone replacement.

The pellets are the best choice for me, but there may be better choices for other women. I think the best thing to do would be to get informed of all your choices and then make your decision. If you haven't read Breakthrough by Suzanne Somers, it's a great book.....she does Bioidentical creams instead of pellets but she puts out a lot of info.

Best of luck.
Janie
