hi, I am desperate for a good nights sleep (maybe that is near impossible during pere-menapause??!!) and have bought some Black Cohosh. I am taking 2 caps ber day, 250mg so a good strong dosage. So far nothing has improved, but really keen to know if anyone has had success with it, how many they were taking and when the success kicked in !!

thanks!

I have friends that found it helped, but they had to be patient as it took a few weeks for it to kick in. And for others it doesn't work at all. I think they were taking 2 per day. Are you taking a good, standardized brand with a good reputation?

During peri, I had awful flashes and night sweats. Made me nuts. Before I started BHRT, I used black cohosh with very good results. It took double the recommended and probably a month or so, but it worked. Later, when I was fully out of peri, the night sweats returned. I wasn't taking BHRT at the time, so resumed the black cohosh and added red clover. Really worked. Keep a little can of Evian mister in the fridge - handy for cooling down in a hurry.

Kem it takes about 8 weeks for meds to kick in even when it's a natural product. I'm taking Sage for hot flushes and now after 7-8 wekks I can finally feel it working.

I started taking Remifermin mid Nov 08. You can up to take up to 4 tablets a day depending on how severe your flushes and night sweats are. By Christmas I felt so much better, I take 3 a day 1 in the morning 2 in the evening. For me there doing there job, I'm happy and they are reasonable price here in Australia.
