I'm 48 yrs old and have been on a .05 Vivelle Dot and 100mg progesterone (cyclic) for one month. Had no withdrawl bleed after 12 days on progesterone. Began using Estrace Cream 1gm for vaginal dryness 5 days ago. Developed cramping and spotting after third dose of Estrace Cream. Is this normal?

Planning on calling my doctor on Monday. I feel odd about calling her again since I've had several problems with the HRT this month already. She's understanding but I still feel like I'm being a problem patient. I have no reason to believe this. Assume it's just another side effect of low estrogen on my mental state.

You should not hesitate to call your doctor. They are there to help you. It can take a long time to get hrt tailored to what your body needs. If you are still in peri than some breakthrough blleeding is considered normal. However, any bleeding should be reported to your doctor. I'm sure everything will turn out fine.
