I just found out today my holistic doctor is no longer covered by my insurance plan. All because he submitted his paperwork a few days late they refused to renew him.

OMG!! Little by little my life lines in this meno-journey are slowly being stripped away. sad.gif

I could pay out of pocket, but it's going to be quite difficult in my current situation.

I could also find another doctor, but ladies you all know what a crap shoot that is--trying to find a doctor who REALLY understands our symptoms and validates our struggles. I'm at a loss and very, very angry at our insurance system. mad.gif

Sorry, Book, that really stinks and has to be scary too. My ins. is crap and I have to pay out of pocket for most things. And if the money is tight, it makes it even more stressful.

What type of doc was he and what was he doing for you?

He was a naturopathic doctor and also a chiropractor. He was helping me balance my hormones and was wonderful with the emotional support, patiently explaining things to both me and to my husband about the "journey" I am on.
I was working with him along with my primary care doctors. They would forward the bloodwork and test results and he would treat me with herbs and vitamins and such.

I don't know what I will do without him!! I feel like I lost my best friend. (After dh of course)

Bookie, I'm so, so sorry. sad.gif

When we find a good doctor during this rough phase, we really rejoice, and it hurts to lose them!

My beloved doc moved to So. Carolina. He'd been wonderful throughout the peri years, and I haven't been happy with the replacements I've seen.

So sorry you're in this position.

Except for this site, I feel I have no support now. I may cut out some other expenses in order to still go to him. Who needs food, right? Sheesh. What a choice to have to make.

Wow. That is a bummer sad.gif Maybe he'll be able to work out a payment plan with you. Since I'll be finding out soon if I'll be part of a round of layoffs, I've already spoken with my art therapist about other options, and I'm sure my ND would be able to work something out too.

I'd like to hear what you decide upon!

Good luck!

Dang, sorry to hear that you're losing your doctor Book! This just happened to my mother because her doctor is dropping her insurance plan, but he is working out a "deal" with her at a lower cost to come in and see him. Perhaps your doctor could do something like that for you as well...

Good Luck to You!

Dear little 'Bookworm56'
That is bad news but I think like jdog suggested he might be willing to make out a payment plan with you.I do this with my Dentist and he has been very understanding.
Good Luck
