It seems as though my worst times of the month emotionaly, physically and mentally are from the 2nd day before I start my period all the way through my period and then until about the 11th or 12th day of my cycle.I just feel so emotional and tired, irritable anxious I cry at the drop of a hat and think my life is just awful but then just like clock work I start to feel better around day 12 and by the 18th or so I feel great up until the day before my period THEN HERE COME THE BLUES sad.gif I was just wondering if anyone else feels this way.It used to be I would always have PMS that would vanish the day I started my period but now it last almost till the middle of the month blink.gif I just dont get it !!! Hormones !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mad.gif

I'm having a major meltdown at the end of my period and a few days after.
Still PMS but it's a walk in the park compare to the end now!

My days of total insanity have been in the luteal phase of my cycle. I used to have one good week, the week after my period... That vanished and now I am trying to get it back!

Best Wishes,

After months of reading these boards I have decided to contribute too if that's ok smile.gif

t Nikki you have answered my question perfectly, I've noticed on days 6-8 of my cycle my anxiety goes through the roof, I have multiple panic attacks, multiple weird symptoms and just feel horrible. This slowly gets better until I assume I either ovulate (or don't) then I'm almost myself until it starts again the next month. I don't even think I get that bad PMT.
I'm only 38 but have a history or early menopause in my family. Have had a few blood tests over the last year with raised FSH levels everytime confirming I am defiantely in the 'peri' sad.gif It's so pants!

I have noticed a similar experience. I used to have TERRIBLE PMS which would stop immediately with my period. Now I find I feel my best the week before, and I fall apart physically and emotionally afterwards.

I can chime in. I also had relief starting my period before peri. NOW!!! symptoms do linger.
This month my period was only 3 days. I love that but my symptoms are continuing. I am having terrible depression and brain fog now. I will let you know if I feel bette towards "ovulation"

I can relate to this as well. I used to feel better after I started, but not now. My periods are about 3 days as well, but it seems the symptoms continue like they were 6-7 days. Once I get past that phase, I'm better until ovulation...then the cycle starts again. It's at a point where I only feel human a couple weeks out of the month. I dread ovulation because I know the fun's starting again. dry.gif

Quick jump in to this older post.....
I am sure we are out numbered here but I have the same thing.
I feel alright during my period. It starts around day 5-7 after (periods only about 3 days long) and the listlessness, fatigue, pure lack of all motivation sets in untill I have ovulated or tried too. That is when I am at my best. PMS isn't horrible, a day or so of sleep, sleep, sleep, a bit tense with the Children but nothng major.
Day 6 Today, headache, tired, pissed that I am around the corner from my worst time of month sad.gif(((((
Time for a nap.....

I always feel WORSE in the last 1/2 of my cycle. That's when my night sweats start, about 10 days before the start of my period. The PMS kicks in 4 days before, which has been the case my whole life. I feel better almost IMMEDIATELY after I start. I have even said -- as recently as yesterday -- that I knew I had started because I feel emotionally better -- from tears to smiles at the flick of a switch. And I was right. I went to the bathroom and sure enough -- I had started. Of course, the physical symptoms -- cramps, back ache, headaches -- are miserable, but I feel mentally OK.

Hmm...could all this mean that I'm not ovulating? If I'm not, there's no progesterone for the last 1/2 of the cycle, right? Have to check out the low-prog symptoms.

This is all so interesting. I have the same symptoms as webalina--just like I see the flow and all is better again(except the fatigue from anemia). Last month I was under a lot of stress and had the fibro pain bad and noticed that I didn't feel as well after my period but, that is unusual. About ten weeks ago I started using my cell phone(calender) and writing down symptoms---whatever I felt, good or bad. I can't believe how closely to the day my symptoms match. I already know how I felt but, I'm so glad I logged it. Webalina, I still ovulate(I can tell when I do), but as I said I have similiar symptoms to you.

I had noticed that after I got off the Pill I started having this really stringy vaginal mucus around the middle of my cycle. I was told that was a sign of ovulation. Haven't noticed that lately (although in reality I haven't been paying that much attention), so who knows? I DID do some research and found that many of the peri symptoms I have the most problems with are low progesterone issues. I guess the next stop is some progesterone cream.

Please keep the low dose and use the over the counter progesterone cream to start. I am off all progesterone now but when I did go to a low prescription strength I started getting hot flashes. I'm taking a break from all of it now. I believe the progesterone helps and hurts at the same time---for me anyway. Proceed with caution.

I feel much worse the 3 or 4 days leading into my period .. but I notice I start the slide at the beginning of my leutal phase.. so for about 17 days of the month I feel like Cr@p ! there are only about 7 days a month now where I feel ok,, more if my period is giong to be further apart then the 28 days or so sad.gif

Thanks for the warning. I'm not feeling bad enough to run out and buy some right away -- at least not lately blink.gif But if the night sweats and anxiety get worse (taking Effexor with some success, but the dosage seems to not be as effective now), I may try some cream out.
