Hi, I sure it hope all goes back to normal at some point!!! I had a hysterectomy 4 years ago at the age of 44 due to years of misery and huge fibroids. I have one ovary left. I have had hot flushes, anxiety, panic , and the mood swings ? Yikes...my hubby and girls (22 and 19) can describe them in full. dreadful...but i have started taking 'menopace' a vitamin based supplement and its helping. I also now cycle every morning uphill for 40 mins and walk every day. This has made a huge difference to me. I sleep better because of it....some days I can take on the world, others I dont want to go out..but I force myself to..I am only 47 and have so much to live for. Its ME TIME....so make the most of it.....

Yes, Yes, and YES! ALL things change. Some of the change is hormonal, some is just GROWTH. I mean really... do we want to be the same person we were at 20? I certainly don't.

I also wonder how much of the change just has to do with (dare I say it laugh.gif) AGING I mean... I get tired these days! Is that because of meno, or because I'm almost 50?? I don't run as fast, I can't hopscotch like I use to, and I get exhausted jumping rope! laugh.gif

I in no way want to diminish the very real and significant changes that we are all going through..... but I've come out of every decade a bit different, and I wasn't in meno after all the decades.

So, CB, to answer your questions.... FOR ME.... the symptoms that are meno related that you mention have gotten MUCH better. YES, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

But I doubt I'll ever skip rope again.... wink.gif

Skipping rope I can live without for sure! I do realize nothing stays the same and I quite like being older and wiser so no, I don't want to be 20 again, no way, you kidding. Once was enough. I was just referring to life without quite so many not fun things (the ugly side of meno I call it!) so THANKS for telling me that the meno symptons for you have gotten much better YIPEE!! Such a rollercoaster ride some days I tell you what.
Love being able to drop a note/concern and get feedback from those in the somewhat place in life.

You ladies are lovely~~~~

I am 56, and I know many older women in their 60's and 70's that haven't slowed down. They exercise vigorously, they can go, go, go and don't get the fatigue that many of us get. And they are fully menopausal. So I don't think it's always just old age. It could be thyroid, adrenals, nutritional deficiencies, poor eating habits, not getting enough sleep, etc. And these women are not taking hormones. Go figure.

I wonder if these ladies in their 60's and 70's are working full time and raising families??? It's not always just one thing (IMHO), meno OR old age... it's the totality of one's life and lifestyle. That was the point I was trying to make, albeit I made it badly laugh.gif Like I said, I in no way dismiss the very real hormonal symptoms we face.

My grandma took a cruise at 85 to learn the cha-cha laugh.gif So I get your point.

Getting enough sleep is the big challenge. Lack of sleep exacerbates EVERYTHING!!!

After meno when hormones are fluctuating less, many find relief. I also understand that many don't.

This brings me to a question that I was thinking about before. Do our hormones continue to fluctuate always or do they eventually run out completely and leave us alone?

I agree with the rest of you that I do not want to be 20 agaiin. I have no problem with my age, except this meno stuff. I just want this ugly stuff to go away. The constant anxiety and other stuff cannot be good for our bodies let alone our minds!

Hugs everyone,
Jeaninne
