I have the results of all my hormone bloodwork back today. Everything within normal range except for my DHEA sulfate which is skyrocket through the roof higher than the range. Normal range up to 240 and mine is at 314. I am wondering if anyone know what this means? I know it has something to do with the adrenal gland function and that is all I can find. What would an elevated DHEA indicate?
It could be adrenal hyperplasia as Floater suggested, but I'm wondering what other hormones were tested and what were the results and ranges for each of the tests. Did they test your total and free testosterone because some women with PCOS also have elevated DHEA. Do you have the other results so that you can post them?
DHEA can convert to testosterone for some women causing deeper voice, hair growth on face and other unwanted places, anger, rage, hair loss, weight gain, insulin resistance, depression, etc. Do you have any of these symptoms? My niece has it so I am familiar with it!
If it is adrenals are you having difficulty sleeping, difficulty with stress, anxiety, chronic fatigue??? Are you taking any DHEA supplements or anything?
Best Wishes,
