I have been on this Board for three years trying to attribute my horrific symptoms to early menopause. However, only after getting worse and worse did I finally find out it has been lyme disease all along. Please get tested and get a copy of your labs. I was in fact tested three years ago and advised it was negative when it fact it was not. I have suffered from still neck and shoulders, joint pain, vision problems, exhaustion, hearts palps and pains, just to name a few. Although all of these can be attributable to menopause, they are also symptoms of lymes.
Don't do what I did and keep writing them off as anxiety/menopause/thyroid whatever.
GET TESTED!

Hi,
Can you tell us what treatment you've tried, and whether it has worked to help you feel better?
Thanks,
Missy

Please tell me what kind of doctor gave you the test to find this out and what were your symptoms that lead them to find this out for you.
I was tested but I have found out that it is not always correct.
What treatments are you now taking for this...and are you better now that you have found this out.

My symptoms have been extreme fatigue, anxiety, joint pains, stiffness, daily headaches, really too many to mention, Just everyday was a struggle. The pressure in my head was severe. I couldn't wait to get to bed each day. My jaw was extremely tight as was my neck and shoulders. I actually kept pushing and pushing until I found a dr. who would listen and she just kept saying we are missing something. She suggested lyme and upon obtaining a copy of lab work from 3 years ago when all symptoms started and ended up in ER twice, three bands showed positive but still considered a negative interpretation. Dr. never informed me of anything out of ordinary even though other indicators were there such as high c-reactive protein, d-dimer, elevated platelets. All indicators of inflammation. Over and over again I was told anxiety and menopause. When the shooting pains became unbearable - I would sit at my desk and get a stabbing pain in my knee, then my elbow, then my index finger, etc. etc. etc., I knew I had better find out soon or I would end up in hospital. I took it upon myself to go to a lyme dr. when my dr. told me she believed from the earlier lab work that it was lyme all along. You don't just wake up one day with stabbing pains in your heart and severe anxiety from menopause. However, I was given anxiety meds and told that that was what it was. I have just started treatment and in fact have felt horrible which I understand is normal when you start treatment. I did not like first lyme dr. so I am seeing another one next week.
