well, it is about 7AM, and i just woke up from a weird dream ... however, I noticed that as I sat up in bed, and swung my legs over the side of the bed, my arms seemed to be really vibrating! I felt they were also shaking a bit, so I held my left arm out in front of me to see if the shaking could be seen, and you really couldn't tell that from the outside, it shook a tiny bit. Both my arms were doing this, at first. But, as I got up and walked around, the right arm quieted down, but my left arm kept on going like this! There were no signs of a heart attack (I know they are diff. than with men), no chest pain, back pain, or any actual PAIN in my left arm, and my breathing was fine as well. I began to pace back and forth in the living room, I think mostly, out of fear. My left arm mainly, began to feel this "pins and needles" feeling, but not severly, just a small bit really, but I did notice it. I have now been up for about a half an hour, and by now, the pins and needles, and vibrating feeling in my RIGHT arm is pretty much gone .... but my left arm still has that pins and needles feeling (mainly down in my left hand), I also notice that my left arm, feels sort of HEAVY and there seems to be a kind of "pain" (this is not really a "pain", more like an ache) on the inside of the elbow (the soft area on the inner arm, where blood is drawn) ... again, this is NOT bad, just noticeable. Now, recently, my dr. had switched me to valium, from xanax, so I've been taking the valium for the past few days, but only 5mg.s during the day (if I needed it) and then, 5 mgs. at night .... I also noticed that hours after taking the valium, my head would feel "pressurized" (the feeling you get when you stand up to soon), and I could feel the pressure in my ears as well, with each heart beat .... I've decided that valium is NOT for me at this point...I'm going to tell her i want to switch back to xanax! HOWEVER, i don't know if any of this is from the valium, I did take 5mgs. last night, a few hrs. before bed, and like I said, I woke up today, like this. This may NOT have a darn thing to do with the valium, it may be the way I slept, who knows. I DO know, that when I woke up, i was laying on my back though, I wasn't laying on my arm. so, I really don't know. Naturally, when all this began to happen....I started to feel a tiny bit nauseas and whoozy....but that has passed, I think that was from anxiety.

I would appreciate any thoughts on this .... I've had so much shaking, vibrating, pins and needles, warm feelings ... in all diff. parts of my body, so it wouldn't surprise me at all, if this was just peri.....but, I figured I'd ask around!

thanks girls! smile.gif

HI!

I took suffer with the vibrating, shaking and numbness in my arms and hands.

Sometimes the right, sometimes the left and sometimes both!!!!

Hi, I know your pain. I occasionaly wake up with the same feelings. My arms have that tingling, pins and needles sensation in it. You be compressing the nerves in your elbows or wrists from the way you were sleeping. Have you been checked for carpal tunnel? I sometimes have that feeling in my legs. They only occur at night after I have fallen asleep and it usually wakes me up. Could also be pinched or compressed nerve in your neck maybe? This all started for me about 2 years ago and at first it freaked the crap out of me, I would panic once I woke up because it just is such a strange sensation and we think the worst. I realize now that I have not yet suffered a stroke so it may not have anything to do with that. I also had a brain CAT scan to rule out tumors as I was getting some strange paresthesias on my face. This is a strange time in our lives isn't it. Also, certain drugs may cause these symptoms. I try not to take anything anymore and work through my anxiety without drugs.

Good luck to you. I know how fearful this all is, but you are not alone.

Bch makes good points. I just wanted to add that this is a classic symptom of anxiety. If your dreams are bothersome, you may be feeling anxiety from them and that can cause the pins and needles feeling in all the limbs.
