Hi everyone,

Does anyone suffer from leg aches? I used to suffer with leg aches right before and during my cycle, but now it seems as if I suffer more often, and it's not just my lower legs, my thighs ache terribly too. Does anyone else have this problem/symptom and is this part of peri too?

I'm on the heating pad as we speak....took Ibuprofen too.

Thanks,
Tracey

Tracey,

I have the same problem. For me it almost always occur at night and I get woken up because my thigh hurts so bad...this happened last night again. I seem to notice it more around ovulation and days closer to my period.

Haven't talke to the doctor about this but I noticed it for months now.

I had this too, and it was the primary symptom that my thyroid was out of whack. I had blood work done, and it turned out I was hypothyroid. Muscle aches can be a common symptom of this condition. Once I started on thyroid medication, the aches cleared up, almost over night.

I've had my thyroid checked twice by my PCP and he says its within normal limits...maybe I should see a specialist. I don't know, I know that my legs have always ached right around my period, that's how I knew I was about to start...this has been going on for about 10 years. Just curious if others ever experience this too.

Thanks!

Tracey, Yes, I have this and am experiencing this now -and have for months actually. It is on the front of both legs - and time of day/night does not make a difference. My thyroid is fine, I take magnesium, etc. I just think it's hormonal in origin. I have also had it on my hamstrings - but that eventually left. I find heat helps too. Take care, Kathleent
