No not recently, had it checked approx 2years ago when had vision problems(think occular? migraine)had ultra sound on neck veins had heart monitor on too.everything normal then.I know i should go but feel like hypochondriac at present, have had numerous blood tests recent all ok have had alot of neck jaw shoulder pains that seem to migrate around my body, these pains in heart have come when i,m least stressed too, they pass fleetingly if i stay calm, but none the less scary, the time of neck shoulder jaw pain had EXTREME fatigue bouts also
Thankyou for replying and taking the time so kind

It's probably hormone related. but if you're worried, it wont hurt to have another check up - It will reassure you and lessen your anxiety. Take someone with you when you go to see your doctor. I hate going to see the doctor too -- I dread getting test results but sometimes they are necessary ---

(((hugs)))

Hi Evening Primrose,
I,m amazed people are replying it,s so lovely and comforting.Thankyou I will go back,I sort of think it,s hormone related, but then there,s the "health anxiety" rearing it,s head, and saying "maybe not" hate it when I get this way.Ive also broken out in acne over night!! under my chin?Haven,t had them there since my TEENS. This isn,t how i thought my 40,s would be.
Have a lovely day K

(((((((((Kath)))))))))))) My best guess based on my myriad of symptoms is that is is hormonally generated. That said, I too think it's prudent to go and have your heart checked. I did that myself this last November when I had a terrible heaviness in my chest/heart area with aches that didn't feel "right". Everything checked out fine - we still haven't figured out the cause ...which means that it's likely hormonal. That said, it still is unnerving. So, take good care and you'll feel much more relieved when you've gotten that good report that you're fine. Hugs,Kathleent

Hi Kath..
I must say I have not had exact feeling you described sometimes felt a bit weired in the chest heavy breathing sort of thing that happens at 2.00am and you look at the bloomin clock knowing you have to get up at 6.00am mad.gif .. For peace of mind I would be paying a visit to your Dr.. It does sound like hormonal changes but to be sure pet have it checked out.

Hey don't be a stranger keep us posted

I get the same thing a lot lately. It just comes on for no reason, I'm just watching TV or doing nothing in particular and I get this awful feeling of dread and my chest feels heavy and achy. Sometimes it turns into an anxiety attack where I feel like I'm dying. That's when I take an anxiety pill. It probably would make you feel better to have it checked so you have some peace of mind what it's not. I think I am going to ask my dr about it too even though I think it is hormone/anxiety related. Hang in there!

Thats exactly what my doctor told me....Anxiety.

I can relate to these symptoms. Just had an echo stress a month ago, and all is well but these last few days I have a 'heaviness' and achy feeling in my chest. I am still getting my periods, however I am irregular. I am in day 29 and am getting some PMS symptoms, so I wonder if the chest discomfort is related to that. its sort of hard to discern whether the pain is from my boobs or a muscular pain.

I am pretty anxious today too, moreso than in prior days (Lexapro 5mg is taking off some of the edge) having a dull burning feeling (like a worried stomach) for the last few days on and off. I was on the treadmill today and yesterday, with no discomfort. I keep telling myself I've been checked out, but this pesky health anxiety (thank you peri-menopause) makes me wonder.

Anyone else get chest discomfort when overdue or approaching their periods?

Thank you all
Sue

Well let's see...after ANOTHER trip to the ER last night for exactly the same thing....YES!!!! I have been to the ER before to check out heart issues but this one felt different and I was making myself nuts (I have had an echo as well as a stress test) so I went and had another EKG and blood work. He even took an X-ray and he is chalking it up to acid reflux and hormones.

Not fun, but at least i am not going to drop dead when we go away next week.

I am glad you went and got checked. I am really glad everything is fine. It is hard to get our brains to understand we are fine when we dont' feel that way. Hormones or not, you just feel wrong and that is scary. You did the right thing and now hopefully you can relax for a while and know what it is. Maybe you could keep a journal and have it around with the symptoms and date so you can look back when you feel this way again to reassure yourself you are fine. I have started this and sometimes I still get nervous, but it does help.

Have a great weekend.
