I have been reading about all these colon cleansers on the market. They sound like they would help, but has anyone had any experience with them?
They are pricey and before I jump in and WASTE MORE MONEY, some personal feedback would be appreciated. Of course each brand brags that theirs is the best, so I'm confused.

Hummm.... I've done them. A few years ago as a panic weight loss thingy. As far as weight loss goes, you'll lose a couple pounds in waste and body fluids, but 2 days later it's back on so it's not a weight loss solution.

If you're feeling bloaty and somewhat toxic (depending on your diet) then I would recommend LOTS of fruit juices!! The truth is if you have the right diet, (fruits, veggies, lean proteins) your body takes care of it all by itself.

Personally... unless your diet consists of junk food, and you plan on not eating anymore junk food, I wouldn't do it. If I were on a 7 day In-N-Out burger binge, I might do the juices, but I personally think the cleansing thing is a waste of money. JMHO biggrin.gif

I agree. I think just adding fruits and vegetables as well as whole grains to your diet is enough. There are a lot of fiber cereals out there that would help you become more regular. Also make sure to get your daily intake of water as well. That shuld do it. I wouldn't waste money on the cleansers, although I don't think they are dangerous, just not necessary.

I've done a few, some quite pricey, and was not impressed with any of them. I tend to have major constipation issues even though I eat plenty of fruit and veggies. The psyllium just bound me up more, the flax made me gassy, so I'm having the best results by cooking up pure oat bran, enough for several days, and eating a small bowl/day.

I've tried to do a cleanse, but it made me MORE constipated!

I'm currently taking 'fractionated pectin' by Thorne.....it kind of helps....but I'm still somewhat constipated!
