Full Version: Racing Heart beat at Night
Power Surge Forums > Board Discussions > Am I Starting Perimenopause?
timeless
About a month ago I started having what I called heart racing at night not all the time but just every now and then. Now it seems to be every night and then I have the internal shaking /vibration going on along with sweating but only on my chest area below the breast area. This seems to be only happening at night not during the day. It wakes me up and I can get it calmed down but not stopped.

This is pretty scary, any advice or suggestions.

only that this is completely normal in peri!

I went through this many times and it is indeed very scary and disconcerting...but mine has faded now I am in post meno (no period in 20 months)...unfortunately still get the odd night sweat though....!

The only thing you can do is limit your sugar, caffeine and alcohol intake...get plenty of exercise and eat healthy. this will minimise the sweats anyway.

sorry i can't me much more of help to you...I do understand your plight!

The exact same as me, only i get it sometimes through day to , it's not as scarey in the day though than night time.

My hands are shaky to, this peri is going to drive me insane.

Periods every two weeks, shaking, heart flutters, hot sweats.

I want to be a man. mellow.gif

Welcome to PS. I encourage you to keep coming to this site for encouragement. You remind me at the beginning of peri and yes, it is so scary. No one really understands, not even the drs!

So, I suggest you go ahead and go to the dr. They WILL check you heart. Dont worry though. MANY peri women have gone through this and come out fine despite the racing heart and palp.

I am on an AD. I dont like having to be on it and would love to quit. I have gained weight on it too. This is just where my life is right now. An AD will keep your anxiety under control for the most part. Life will become livable.

I will be 48 this year and started peri at 41. My obgyn told me I was too young and wanted me to see a psychiatrist. I have yet to go to him this year for my check up because I just dont want to deal with him.

I found the racing heart, anxiety just absolutely unbearable

May I ask what AD you are on? Also they have checked my heart and said it was fine. But when they did I was not having the racing heart symptoms.

I could use gaining weight since I have lost 50 pounds since this all started back in July.
