Hi Ladies,

I wanted to ask if any of you that are experiencing the "body jolts" or jerking at night, if you get them more frequently during ovulation and/or before your menstrual cycle?

I know for me that seems to be the case. This past month a few days before my period was due, I had some really hard jerks at night right as I was between sleep and wake. I also get them more frequently when I am on or near ovulation. Just wondering if there is a connection as it seems to be.

I just had another MRI and it was normal..but the Neurologist wants me to take Baclofen ( muscle relaxer) before bed..and I don't want to as I already take xanax. He said it is myoclonic jerks..but that was it.

Just wondering what experience you all have with them? I am so sorry for anyone else experiencing them as for me it sets off my anxiety, which is not in the least helpful.

Take Care,

Sunny~

When I was having my periods and ovulating I would have the body jerks, forgot about them until you reminded me. Yes really strong when they were both due. Just be drifting off to sleep and jolt awake or have a brain zap. This is a known thing when falling asleep. Myclontic jerks I think. I looked it up on the internet. As long as you have everything checked out by your Doctor.

Sunny, I usually have them in the luteal phase of my cycle. During that time all heck breaks loose! After I start my period the jerking goes away!

I also get body jerks and right now I'm ovulating so they are pretty harsh. I've been having alot of neck/shoulder pain in my left side...the Dr. says that's where I carry all my stress so my muscles are very 'stringy'. Anyway, the past few nights I've noticed that as I'm relaxing and dosing off my left shoulder will jerk really hard and wake me up...no pain involved though aside from the residing dull ache that's always there.

Hello Ladies..
Well count me in to the *jerks* at night! I had them sooo bad last July-December.. every night I would wake or in the early AM they were esp. bad, when I would be sort of awake and then JERK!.. my middle section, arms, head, my hubby would notice it too.. It isnt fun. Lately they havent been as bad, I still have them though. I take magnesium at night and Vit D. Not sure if it really has helped or if my hormones have calmed down. I tell you though this ride isnt fun! lol. I have experienced in the past 9 months all sorts of miserable things.

Love to you all!

You know I was reading a book tonight, and it attributed some jerking/jolts to testosterone. I thought that was interesting since my free testosterone is high!
