So this is the story. I went to the doctor last week for hand a foot pain. Mostly the big toes and the index finger and the one next to it. My ankles, wrists and knees hurt too. So does the tmj. He did extensive blood work and an x-ray of the hands. I went back today and should be thrilled that all came back normal. Yeah, great news, but why do I still feel so uncomfortable? I feel achy and in pain. If I take ibuprofen it is better, and he said to do this for two weeks and see where I stand, then go back again if it's still there. I asked what will he check for then? He really couldn't say, he said I am lucky I am healthy. Don't get me wrong, I am, but I dont' understand what it could be. Is it hormonal? I'm thinking it may be. It is strange. Any suggestions? I am so worried he missed something of I have als or something awful. He told me to relax and be happy, but I am still a bundle of nerves. HELP!!!!

Oh my dear ((()))) how I can relate! THose test results come back normal - HURRAY -and .... now what? I have had such weird, strange things the last 4+ years. SOOO many tests and the symptoms continue, the symptoms stop, the stymptoms come back, they change. etc etc etc. The favorite phrase at our house is "must be hormones". I know that's not always a helpful thing -because I want an explanation that then translates into my being to "do" something -but more often then not, that is not the case.
Right now I am having pretty rough pain in my right arm/shoulder and discomfort in my chest. Xrays show nothing. My blood work is good. The MRI on my chest was good. The MRI on my arm in September was good. So .... who knows? My doctor wants me to have a bone scan on my arm. A part of me thinks - ok, let's do it - and another part says - go through all that for what (I hope) will be normal. So ....
I so know where you are. I will try and give you the same advice I need to give to myself - breathe, embrace what is good and try to know that the things that horomones do is stunning. It's good you had it checked out. I hope your symptoms pass soon. Feel free to pm me anytime you need. kathleent

Thanks for your answer. I know I need to relax. I did take a xanax and it helped. This past week was my period week and my bcp;s have less hormones in them. To boot, I ran out of them and now have been two days without any at all. I am sure this drove the anxiety way up. My doctor told me to let him do the worrying, shook my hand and said I am fine. Why can't I believe him? I was more anxious on the way out then an the way in. Would I have been happier with a disease? I think not. I hope the hormones start to balance out again and get me back to normal.
I hope you arm feels better. I know the arm/shoulder/chest thing too. Everything hurts. I guess it's just the way our bodies feel when going through this mess. I feel fortunate for people like you who help me through it all. Let's make a pact not to google symptoms, it's a bad thing, it only leads to more stress.
thanks again.

Yep yep... I hear you, loud & clear. My feet are constantly doing weird things. They are numb or they hurt or they tingle, sometimes it's hands too, sometimes it's just the right foot which always feels as if the last two toes are crossed over. I went running to the doctor first time it happened and she said everything was fine.
So I just think of it as "this week's symptoms".
