I wish there was a thread on just this. I have had tingling sensations in my hands and feet-kinda like pins and needles but not as intense-for 2 years. I always get them at night when I go to bed. And sometimes when I'm sitting. Sometimes I get a burning sensation with them and sometimes more of a cold sensation. They are driving me crazy. I also feel like I went to bootcamp when I wake up. My feet hurt and my calves. It goes away after I walk around. I also get those darn vibrations randomly and the internal shakes. My hormones are off right now-I'm 45. But haven't always been. Plus I havent had a period in 2 months. I've had every blood test in the book done-thyroid is good although I have Hashi's-weird. B12 is good. I just want to cry everyday cause I'm so scared I have MS-even though I've been to 3 neurologists and had MRI's that are clear-except I had 2 tiny lesions on the brain that were not MS related and all docs say no. Am I the only one that is plagued with these darn tingling sensations? Anyone out there have them and what have you done to get rid of them? Please help!! I can't stop crying about it.

I have had this too. Mostly at night and it really started to drive me crazy. Had doc check it out and my reflexes were OK. I am extra paranoid cuz DH has MS and this was his first symptom. I must say that if you have had this for 2 years and are not experiencing any other symptoms except the tingling then I wouldn't worry about it being MS. As MS progresses there are other symptoms besides just the tingling-like numbness etc. And since you have gone to your docs to get it checked out then you shouldn't worry about it. It's probably just hormone related like mine probably is. My tingling has finally faded away. It was doing that when my hot flashes were the worst. There are other threads related to this subjects but my meno brain has forgotten where.

matclan,
In the search on power search, type in "tingling" and pages and pages of posts will come up. Tingling is very common with us meno gals, if you have been checked out by the doc's and had MRI's I would try and not worry.
Hugs and hang in there.

Welcome to Power-Surge! Every symptom you mentioned in your post goes hand in hand with peri.
I am sorry that you are experiencing this. I have experienced the tingling sensations more than once, and the internal sahkes/vibrations. All these symptoms seem to come and go. Health anxiety is so hard to deal with during menopause. Believe your doctors findings regarding your MRIs. I'm sure you have read this many times on this board, but please do not google symptoms. This will only add to your health anxiety. Personally, I come to this website and look up symptoms here. There is so much information and so many women have been through the same thing. Do you have an active lifestyle? You may find that increasing exercise will help in diminishing some of these symptoms of peri. Be sure to eat healthy. Cut out caffiene and sugar (I'm still working on cutting out sugar). I have made some lifestyle changes and I has helped me.
I hope you feel better soon.
Hugs,
Bella

I just went to the doctor for the same thing, hands and feet tingling and side of face (either side, depending on which side it wants that day). I had a CAT scan of the brain to rule out tumor and it was fine. Had the B12 blood test, thyroid, diabetes, etc., all fine. The next step was for an MRI of spine to see if there is any compression causing this but I had to forego that for now. No insurance and expensive tests. I think it could be a sign of perimenopause?? but not sure. Some ladies who are now post say they had this while in peri but it has disappeared while in postmenopause. Feel better. I do understand the fear and frustration. This whole process is a nightmare. Did I ever mention I hate perimenopause?

I have the tingling sometimes and I believe it is hormone related and anxiety related. As far as I know there is no way to get rid of it but I know that I do not have the tingles as often as I used to.

Thanks everyone who responded. It really eased some of my anxiety about having some kind of neurological problem. I wish there was a cure for the tingling. Believe me I have tried everything. I did look up tingling on here and came across a great post on anxiety. It fits me to a tee. I guess i do have anxiety, in fact, I probably have it all day but have gotten used to that feeling. Luck to us all!!!!!
