Full Version: Feeling bad at ovulation

Does anyone know why we seem to feel bad at ovulation (at least I do). Around day 8-9 of my cycle, I start to feel really crappy. I get winded (what I think are allergies), I don't sleep well, I wake up feeling anxious because I have a feeling like restless leg syndrome in my leg and also feel it slightly in my arm, weird dreams or thoughts in and out of sleep, chest pain, which could be stomach related ( I mean how many heart tests can I have, I don't have anymore money to go running to doc or hospital anymore), crying jags, stuffy nose which seems to correlate with my shortness of breath, irritability (my poor 7-year-old baby gets yelled at).

I have been monitoring this I get a period straight for 3 days (used to be 7 days straight albeit lighter and lighter as it got to day 7). It will be 3 days of regular flow, then it completely stops on day 4 as if to say "am done", and then day 5 it spots a bit for half a day or so, stops again for almost a day, and then on day 6 spots a little and is finished. But by day six or so, I start to feel weepy and it gets worse until the week before my period and couple days of my period where I start to feel somewhat human again. Then it starts all over. But just wondering why at ovulation it seems I feel horrid? Any ideas? Is it a hormone high or low. I don't really know much about hormone levels, am sorry.

Thanks.

I forgot to add, I am getting more hot flashes than I used to, and they seem to be getting more intense than I have ever noticed before. It also starts around ovulation.

Sorry, me again...I feel really badly this month. I look at my son and I think he will not grow up with me. I really honestly feel like I am dying in the back of my mind. Why since I turned 40 I feel like crap. I have no energy. I don't feel well. Could this be hormones. I have had so many tests, are they missing something?

Okay, pitty party done now

I seem to feel worse at ovulation too. Anxiety, palps, sore tired muscles... I am guessing it's the hormones fluctuating.

Hope you feel better fast,
Happymom

Thanks, you too! I was wondering if maybe a drop in estrogen or rise?

I am very much like you,I am having periods that last 3 days then the odd spot.I'm on day 9 now and have weird dreams and toss a lot in the early hours.I feel weepy and anxious in the morning and little bouts of nausea and feeling flushed that I wonder are mini hot flushes. But around day 12-14[ovulation?]I get back ache and headache and nausea big time.I also chart my symptoms and see a pattern so I can't think what else it could be.Anyway hang in there your not alone and keep a journal and make sure you write on your good days and read it when you feel bad. Big Hug Lumz

Progesterone is high at ovulation and many of us peri women are already low in estrogen, which in itself causes many symptoms, but when extra P is added then watch out. I also periodically go through episodes where I feel like I'm dying and it usually is either when I ovulate or I try to go without using Estrogel. I'm so sick of the huge medical bills I've wracked up from ER or Dr. visits only to discover than I'm 'fine'. Sure.

Sariah, thank you....I was not sure which hormone was high or low at ovulation time. Thanks for that bit of info. Funny thing is I might have known that at one point, but my fuzzy memory or brain fog seems to be in the way of my intelligence lately. I guess a lot of us on here can relate to the "feel like dying" syndrome. Why oh why??

Take care.
