Ok, I will start by saying I have had alot of the Symptoms of Menopause, but I swear to GOD, this is the most annoying, anxiety thing ever...recurrent yeast infections. Have seen the expert, doing what he says and STILL breakthrough probs. This does absolutely nothing for my anxiety..OCD..depression. I feel like it will never end and I will always be messed up. Have increased my ad so now have those side effects too. I have glabrata yeast, not the normal kind that Monostat helps, not me. If anyone can shed some hope or light on this, I will help someone else. 51 and still regular sad.gif

You may need to get your PH back in balance.Have you tried vinegar and water douche?I did this and felt almost instant relief. Also eating yogurt seems to help.Hope you find relief-GOD-bless

Goldie, what a bummer!! Stop eating anything with sugar in it. Yeast thrives on sugar. Lady E's advice is also right on the money, although I suspect you already know about those things..... Seems to me we discussed this some time ago. Hang in there, eventually peri will end, and probably so will the yeast issue along with it!!

Yup, eat your yogurt and leave the sugars alone including carbs!

What are they treating you with??? I have issues with systemic yeast along with vaginal yeast issues and I've had both kinds. I use Diflucan for it but for the harder kinds I use it every other day for SEVEN days to make sure it's gone. I slam acidopholus caps (1billion per part) 2 to 4 caps FOUR times a day. Cut back on sugar and starches as these just feed the little buggers! you might want to have your doc do a ph test. If you ph is off it can be corrected!

I remember getting some real stonking yeast infections in the last year or so of peri....and I'd never even had them before then!.....I actually feel a very low grade yeast infection on the right side of my vagina right now, and I am now over 18 months post....wonder why this is happening?

Yes, the sugar is a no, no....but it is really hard to stay away from it isn't it?.....Do you just eat the yoghurt or can you also slap some on the infected area?

Good luck Goldie

Yup, am using Vagifem to try to correct the PH thereby making the vagina less of a "host" for the yeast. I don't want to go crazy with this crap, but between that problem, peri and depression/anxiety, MAN I am a mess. Do you really think that peri ending will help???????????

I have the glabrata yeast. It does not respond much to the Diflucan, but have heard about that treatment from many sites on the web for the albicans yeast. I have even worried I have HIV or something since I cannot get rid of this crap permanently!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you really think the acidophilis helps? My gyne said no, it goes out your bowels. BUT I am willing to try anything. Here's my regimin as of TODAY

Vagifem every other day (to correct the PH in vagina)
Terazole Suppository once a week to suppress
A long list of no contact dermatitis stuff like cotton underwear. cotton pads during periods, no shampoo on coothcie, special soaps and detergent, etc.

When it flares back up, Terazole for more days in a row. Was taking Anusol HC suppositories in the vagina for itching but they irritated my bladder (interstitial cystisitis, I hear). It does not seem everyone has this prob in peri. WHY MEEEEEEEEE

Goldie,

I do believe it will end with the end of peri. During peri I had a constant barrage of yeast and UT infections. It was horrible, made me feel like I was dirty or something. I didn't even know back then that these were peri issues!! Since menopause I have had neither a yeast nor a Ut infection. And I do not miss them!! So yes, I really do believe it will end with menopause.

Now that was some GREAT reassurance! It's so frustrating..I am taking a once weekly suppressive yeast suppository and a once nightly UTI antibiotic. THE ANTIBIOTIC WORKS AGAINST THE YEAST SUPPOSITORY. What's a periwoman to do?? With the OCD and the peri, whoooeeee, I am a mess.

Lgoldie....

read on today's 'newsletter' from the website www.emofree.com...there is info on a lady that 'cured' herself from yeast infections by using EFT.

I don't care how weird and 'new age' EFT may seem, if it works then its good for me!
