My shape looked terrible just a few weeks ago. The skin hung on my hops and they just about went straight up and down like a man's. But just in the last week I seem curvier. My thighs look more filled in, too.

I hate how I can't make this happen anymore with vigorous exercise and healthy diet, that it has to come from a pill. Anyone else feel this way?

So at least the hrt is doing something positive in that way. I know it is because my boobs are firmer and the nipples sore. There's no lower dose than I'm taking, though. Unless there were something milder in the bioidents.

Oops, I meant HIPS! I guess you can't edit posts on here.

Yes, Major Improvement! I am on bios. I also take testosterone. The T has helped a lot.
The E has improved my skin.

I don't log pregnant now. LOL! I am starting to look pretty good in my skinny clothes.

I do resent that I am having to replace my hormones. If good diet and exercise were enough, I should have looked great before the bios. I noticed changes within the first week.

Vliets writes some great books about HT. She states repeatedly that we need hormones inorder to maintain our pre peri/meno shapes. Unfortunately, no baseline gets established for our bodies own "normal" levels prior to the decline. Anyway, I love her books, has many. "Women, Weight and Hormones", It's Your Ovaries, Stupid (good for entire life cycle too), and many other books. Best Wishes, JZZ

Oh, and I just wish this was more common knowledge. I see too many women around me at the gym get discouraged as they "starve" themselves, work out incessantly - AND find it doesn't work anymore (now that they've entered peri/meno and are losing their hormones.) The dominant androgens to the ratio of E is what mainly causes the body shape into the male like "belly fat", no waist, broad shoulders, upper body weight gain, that so many experience. And, the other thing that gets forgotten is the peri/meno main source of E changes from the ovaries (estradiol) to more body fat storage of (estrone). This, I guess, is natures way of keeping us going - although in a chubbier body...... ohmy.gif Regards, J
