Ok.. I was just beginning to feel wonderful. I had started a new form of estradiol & T that my body absorbs quite well and had stopped taking the progesterone daily (as of Feb 4) so my energy levels were rising and I felt more capable than I have in years. Now.. it has come time for me to start the Prochieve progesterone. I put it off 2 weeks longer than Dr told me as it is so I took 1 dose of the 4% last night and I'm to take another 4-5 doses over the course of the next 10-12 days.. This morning.. my energy is lagging and I was hungry. I'm never hungry before my morning workouts. My eyes are so heavy and I'm so sleepy.. and my focus is gone. I can't concentrate on anything.

Any tips on how to combat this? Can I up my dose of estrogel & T to try to compensate or does that nullify the purpose of the progesterone? Please.. advice from all you experienced users.. how do you get around this?

I didn't combat it the first week, I gave in and napped! Now doing the SB diet and have so much energy so dunno if that is combating the P symptoms or the P is finally working. You can come visit I will shoot you up with some of my b12 lol!

It is very common for any type of progesterone to increase your appetite, in addition to other symptoms. And, yes, the Proceive (or any P) DOES suppress the feel good effects of estradiol. Both testosterone AND progesterone are androgens. Since your ratio of E and T was making you feel better but is now being negated by the added P, I would suggest calling your dr and ADDING ONLY more Estradiol (via patch or pill). I would not increase both the E and T. Androgens both tend to suppress/negate the E. Doing this will NOT negate the uterine protection afforded by the Proceive/progesterones. You absolutely must finish all 6 doses! You do NOT have to have a withdrawal bleed. (most docs get this one wrong). As long as you get enough P onboard for YOUR uterus then it will prevent hyperplasia. (To verify this you only need your doc to do occasionally transvaginal ultrasounds - no water drinking necessay.) Hope I answered your question. Just remember not to panic and that you have a LOT of P options to try. Also, did your doc warn you that the Proceive/crinone tends to "give a clump like discharge and if it builds up in the vagina he may need to clean it out". You are being prescribed for the shortest duration so I don't think you'll have a build up problem. That tends to happen more with extended fertility treatments. Regards, J.

LOL.. maybe that's what I need, some B12. So your saying that the first week you felt really tired too?

I only have to do this every other month and then only for the 10 days. I've been procrastiating because I was afraid this would happen and now I'm not sure what to do.. I'm such an energy addict I can't stand not having any. But I did add a touch more of the T and it has seemed to help wake me up some so maybe I'll quit being such a wimp and just get it over with. dry.gif

Other than fruits I don't really eat many carbs but I have been trying to limit them to two a day. Most of my veggies are of the green variety and I eat lots of lean meats and fish so I probably classify for step 2 of the South Beach. I did this diet years ago along with Atkins and WW. I've always felt best on a lower carb Hi protein diet so tend to stay with it. I agree it lends itself to more energy but it's also the best way to lean out.

My carpet guy is almost finished cleaning the carpets so it's nap time.

Yes I was worn out. I bet you will have this every time if you are not on it consistently. Bleh!
