It honestly made my anxiety ten times worse but I didn't have depression going on either. My mother mentioned the same things that she felt worse. Most people do really well on it but when I have had to take something the old faithful prozac always came through

! Like I told you in another post if the bouts of depression/crying are unbearable then try it! We have to have our mental and physical health through this!
Hi ladies
I was on prozac for three years, off and on. It made it so I couldn't sleep. I was put on because I started getting more and more moody and just unable to handle stress. Even my co-worker could not stand me

I hated the prozac for the sleep issues, but it helped with everything else.
Anyway, the samples at my office of pristiq came in and Doc suggested I try it. I was really fearful at first because I know effexor can be very difficult to get off of and in general has some poor side effects. But I was in great need of sleep and I knew I still needed the AD for anxiety/stress (came close to losing my house).
So far the only side effect was about two weeks of slight nausea. I ate with it and it was much better tolerated. I also have lost ten lbs since going on it. The weight seems a bit easier to lose on this then prozac.
So for all the bad side effects, I've experienced only one. The nausea. Which didn't limit me in anyway at all.
I guess it's like Peri. We are all different and react differently.
The drug rep that samples this drug said they were trying to pass it for peri women. Not just for depression. My moods are very even keel now, occ I get moody and i think it's during a time when I'm close to actually having a period. I have one about every 3-4 mos still.
We now have about 3 women on this drug at my office and all have tolerated it very well. They love it. But it's not for everyone.
Huggles, your sister in Peri!
