I have been having left knee pain for the past few months so badly that sometimes it is hard to get up from a chair without help. A few years ago I was having right knee pain but it wasn't as bad, went to the doc, had MRI and he said I had a small torn meniscus and if it got worse, he could do surgery. Well I did not want surgery because I could live with the pain, but I have pain in my left knee daily. I went to the doc yesterday and they took an xray and he examined my knees and said he thinks I have tendonitis, but wants to do an MRI on both knees, which I am going to do in 2 weeks. Does anyone have this in their knees, and how is it fixed? I really don't want to have surgery, I can't be down and out because I take care of my family and if I am down, they have nobody. I am trying not to dwell on this and don't complain to my family, but the pain sometimes is unbearable.

I can sympathize with the pain in the knees, but mine is from osteoarthritis, so I am not much help with tendonitis. I know I did physical therapy which helped alot, but who can afford much of that?

I dont' blame you for not wanting surgery, is there a brace you can use to support the knee? or maybe an exercise to strengthen the area around it to hap support it better.

I hope someone has better answers and that you feel better.

Since Enough smile.gif is my peri/meno twin I have to ditto what she wrote.

I also have osteoarthritis in both knees and I've found that glucosamine and CoQ10 helps along with eliminating certain foods from my diet. I've found that tomatoes is a no-no for me. Lately, I've been eating tomato sauce and I'm back to aching and struggling getting up from a sitting position.

Hope we get relief soon!

Oh no, not tomatoes too!!! I love them! At least they are not in season here yet, but tomato sauce with my beloved pasta, UGH!!! What's left??

This is not fun.
