I only get the vibrations whenever I have just drifted off....what is the correlation between sleeping and the buzzing? It is most always only in my head and I wake up and look around because I am wondering if my eyeballs/tongue/everything else is actually vibrating...LOL!!!!..and they're not!

I am just wondering what being asleep has to do with the internal buzzing? I get it NO. OTHER. TIME.

hormones! I believe that at night are when the hormones (some or all?) at at the highest. Until about three months ago I used to get the internal vibrations...I would feel like my head is just vibrating....sometimes so strong I though there was an earthquake! (I live in Japan so actually sometimes there WAS and earthquake tongue.gif ). Anyway, I got to the point where I got used to it and it was sort of like, oh, this again...which was very very often! ONce I realized that it was not going to hurt me, I just sort of welcomed it as the menoprocess and thought of it at the least of my symptoms....hope you feel better! Joan

I am 49 years old and probably menopausal. I say that because I had ablation therapy 2 years ago and do not know when I have a period (no bleeding). I can just tell my cycle kicks in an out in weird ways.
I just started having the buzzing overnight, last night. I have had severe anxiety for about a week prior. I have appt with my PCP today.
I hope someone reads this. I feel really nervous that I am going to have a panic attack today or very soon.
I did have one 3 years ago and was hospitalized in a "facility" for 5 days. It was so humiliating. I was saying that I wished to die(panic makes you feel that way) and my ex told my doc and they put me in there to get me medicine. I went on Xanax for about 6 weeks and it gradually went away.

I think I am starting to understand that this is all due to menopause.
It is confusing due to several recent changes in my life and having recently drawn some very clear boundaries for some ex family members, living with an annoying smothering roommate, my daughter is ill and 2 sons are in the army. Just stuff.

So I don't know if the roommate its the problem or the ex family member or if I am just crazy. but this anxiety and body buzzing has got to stop. I need sleep so I can work.

I can only relay what I have been though, like slowbear, and totally agree that it is hormones. I did find, last year, after I had not had a cycle in seven months, the buzzing and internal shakes came to a stop. Stress let up, and I felt so much better. Four months later, I had a cycle and here we go again with the stress, anxiety, buzzing, zaps, TMJD, internal shaking, etc. As you know, stress will magnify anxiety issues (sometimes I don't even feel like I am stressed but my body tells me otherwise). The internal shakes/quakes did seem to hit me more at bedtime, but I have also had them during the day.

Hang in there. I hope you get some relief soon.

i can't say what is up with them, but i can say that i get these as well & am currently having a bad flare of them. in this case, it is disrupting my sleep again & i am trying to med adjust so i don't have a full on insomnia run.

as others have mentioned, this is not uncommon & can come & go. i can get it at anytime, but when it combines with sleep disruption, i often run the risk of getting into a bad place of extreme fatigue coupled with horrid ramped up physical symptoms. so far, careful use of a benzo has helped me to manage it.

on a side note, when this first started happening, everybody kept telling me it was because of exterior stressors, or that i wasn't doing enough to calm myself down, etc. but it came out of the blue & seemed unrelated to other factors. it took me forever to trust myself that it was indeed something happening internally. finally finding powersurge made me realize that this was part of the process (i was so scared & didn't understand what was wrong). knowing that has helped me to accept it & to not be so afraid. it has also helped me to find the best ways to deal with it for myself.

hopefully it will pass through quickly for you. & then you can work on figuring out whatever presents next.

good luck,
ellen
