I was reading through some threads in a skin care forum on the make me heal site, and it seems that a couple of women are using estriol cream 0.3 on their faces and under their eyes as part of their skincare regiment.
Anyone here try this stuff? Any side effects....like increased anxiety, weight gain, hot flashes LOL! Ah hem seriously though.

I've used it, unfortunately I don't stick with it long enough to see the difference.

This stuff makes me feel like hell! How anyone could use it as a beauty treatment is beyond me.
I am unable to use estriol cream 0.01% which medically I really need (for vaginal atrophy)as it makes me feel terrible-tearful anxious and really sensitive.
Why Why Why?

Janet,
I just re-started using the estriol vag cream as recommended by GillK. It remains to be seen if it affects me adversely. I will let you know. Where were you applying it and how long were you using it before you noticed it was bothering you?

On the outside of vagina a tiny amount daily and I had side effects from about half an hour after using-a sort of dizzy spacey feeling. After that wore off I would feel almost euphoric for a while but then the next morning I would awake tearful and anxious. Hot flushes increased. This was from day one.
I tried using it regardless as I was told my body would get used to it but after struggling for 3 months I gave up. I never managed more than a small pea size a day. I have since tried again with the tiniest dot but it seems to affect me worse than before. By the way it was me that mentioned that estriol cream increased my sexual sensitivity, on a different thread, and that is how Gillk found out about it-(I am sure she won't mind me saying ). It really does but I can't stand the side effects so I don't use it but I wish I could

Oh geez, well I hope I don't wake up depressed and tearful tomorrow. I inserted some today before church and had forgotten about it.
I was wondering why I've had such a feeling of calm and peacefulness today that I don't remember having for several years. Could it be the estriol, or is it just something I would have felt anyway? Too soon to tell.

I'm prescribed estriol cream 0.01% for vaginal use and as a result of reading on this forum, tried it on my face undiluted a few times. I just put it on my lips and wherever else I thought my skin could do with it! It did seem to plump up my lips a bit. I had to make sure I applied it at night however because using it neat made my skin red wherever I'd applied it, although the redness would have disappeared by the following morning. Then on reading here further, I changed the way I applied it, mixing a bit with ordinary moisturiser and using it all over my face for a few times. I was wary of developing brown spots as when I'd started oral HRT three or so years previously (which I later stopped) I'd immediately developed a brown spot on the side of my face which is apparently in response to estrogen. Well I did develop a small brown spot in the middle of my bottom lip after using the cream there. As it's on the lips it's not noticable, but I stopped using the cream on my face after that in case any more appeared anywhere else! I didn't notice any other side effects, but then I don't get side effects with using it vaginally, apart from noticing that it stings slightly, both on my face and vaginally.
I use Estrace vaginally and it doesn't sting or cause me any problems. But, I a high estrogen kind of girl. lol For those of you who are sensitive to the estroiol creme (not familiar with that but know it's weaker than Estrace which is Estradiol) I would suggest maybe trying to split you dose into 2 times per day. That might cause less symptoms. I've been considering using a little of the estrace around my temples where I'm losing some hair but.......still haven't worked up the nerve to do it. As for any lines or wrinkles on my face, I just use a little of that wonderful stuff called Botox. Great, great stuff. I plan on dying with a wrinkle free face and an estrogen patch stuff to my abdomen!
