Just me complaining again.... I seem to be having a run of this lately rolleyes.gif

Due to my GERD acting up again I cut right back on my Flaxseed oil and vit C intake thinking it may have been aggravating it and after taking my first dose of aloe vera juice last night and no flaxseed or vit C at all yesterday I have woken this morning with very stiff achy hands and wrists. Now I am a hairstylist and do have carpal tunnel but these things haven't given me any trouble for many years well at least since I started taking the flaxseed almost 2 yrs ago. I did have this same symptom arrise last year immediately after having an acupuncture session where she placed needles in my hands and it did it again the 2nd session a week later so I never went back for anymore and gradually I came right again. I think from memory I may have only just started back on the flaxseed then after a complete break from all supplements after I had hurt my back.

I loathe starting new supplements and of course having this hand thing flare up right at this given moment has got me wondering could it have been the aloe vera but it is highly unlikely as I only took a conservative dose and I have used it before many years ago with no problems. My GERD does feel better this morning but it is now lunchtime and I still haven't eaten anything for fear of it going into hyperdrive again as it usually does round that time.

Maybe it's just the continued stress of all this that is making my whole body super tense as I did notice this morning when I woke I had my fists and jaw clenched quite tightly. Even though logic is sitting on one shoulder telling me nothing serious is wrong (cos I've been here before) my health anxiety is sitting on the other saying something different (last time I thought Lupus, RA and a multitude of other nasties). Why oh why do we have to be like this and do this to ourselves, the wondering and worrying only makes it worse but we still do it sad.gif Why can't our brain have a delete button like a computer to get rid of all these non productive useless thought's that keep going round and round in our heads.

All I know is I want it all to just go away, I'm so tired and I just want to be ME again whoever that is...

Yep. My hands have been bothering me too. Waking up with numb fingers and itchy palms, like there's a rubber band tied around my wrist. Some mornings I can't even bend my fingers. Read recently that peri women retain fluid and that can sometimes aggravate any carpal tunnel problems.

Me, too. My hands/wrists have ached more in the last two weeks than they ever have. Add to that jaw, ankles and toes and you get one big ball of pain! The last three nights, I've gone to bed early with an electric blanket on me and various pain killers in me. I feel too young to be dealing with this!

Hey, Add knees to that and you have written my story. I just told my husband yesterday about all these spots that are creaking and feel tight and painful. My elbows and lower back too. UGh!!! I just keep on exercising and moving, I am afraid if I stop, I will stiffen up like a board Hot compresses do feel good. Does glucosamine really work? I take it, but dont 'really know, I ran out a few days ago, maybe that's why it hurts again, either taht or the sudden cold snap I live in.

Feel good everyone.

I'm not sure about Glucosamine but one thing I do know from experience is that supplements take a long time to work and the improvement is not often noticeble for some time but as soon as you stop taking them or cut right down the symptoms come back almost immediately. I believe alot of my hand pain issues right now are because I cut my Flaxseed oil capsules way down then skipped days totally of late to try to settle my GERD down, big big mistake cos now I am aching and paining everywhere. I'm hoping in a few more days things will settle and I will be discomfort free again until the next set of symptoms crop up sad.gif

My dad takes glucosamine for his Rheumatoid Arthritis. He's 69 and has it REALLY bad -- most of his joints are pretty much frozen now -- and he says the glucosamine has helped him. What it does is help in rebuilding worn cartilage in the joints, which is one of the issues with RA. If you're just sore, but don't have cartilage problems, I don't know if it will do any good. But you never know. It might just help you, although I would imagine it takes awhile. Can't remember how long Dad took it before he noticed a difference.

((((((((rox))))))))))))) I'm sorry you're going through so much too. I sure hope you get some relief from all of this stuff. I've been having pins and needles in my right hand on the knuckle side. It's happening while I type. I wonder if it's coming from my neck. It's started about 2 weeks about and happens on and off. So many things...it's unreal.

I am so sorry it has been everything has been tough on you. I can very much relate to the hands and wrists that ache or just down right hurt. I live on tylenol which is the only otc pain reliever I can take. I found heat works the best on the ache of hands and wrists.
there is a wonderful product that heats up naturally exposed to the air. It works for hours and is very helpful. I hope this helps

Thanks Kar and Rif, it seems there is always something new to add to my woes of late..... My fear of the unknown has hit a new level of a 10/10 sad.gif

But then I did have a few really good weeks not long ago so my logic is telling me if it was anything serious then I would feel like this ALL the time not just when I'm stressed and scared unsure.gif wouldn't it....

Good morning,
I really believe that stress does a number on your body and could very well be the reason you have been feeling worse. I am not saying these things wouldn't be there anyway, but when you are stressed they get worse. I know very well how tensing up all the muscles make them worse. I think when you try to relax they hurt even more, as strange as that sounds. I am a jaw clencher too, even at night when sleeping and it makes the tmj worse which makes the neck and shoulder and arm worse, so it's all connected.

Is there anything you can do to relax? I know it's an annoying question, I hate when people tell me to do that, dont' they think I want to? Anyway, for me exercise has helped alot, even the occasional xanax does the trick too. One doctor had me do five days, two to three times a day just to try to break the cycle and even after the third day, it helped. Just a suggestion, I dont' mean to be annoying.

I hope you have a better day today.
