I am sorry..but this will bother me all night-

I has some blood work done and I called my gyn to see if the results were in- the woman who answered said " i will have to have a nurse call you back tomorrow-the office closes at 7" it was 7 when I called-
So I said to her- All i want to know is if they are in- i don't need to know whats in them right now but only want to know if they are in- she was like a robot " i will have to have the nurse call you back tomorrow"
So you can't just say yes, they are here or no they didn't come yet?
" i will have to have the nurse call you tomorrow"
What kind of crap is that? Maybey if she didn't say the same sentence over and over, I might not be so annoyed-
And WHY couldn't she just say, yes they are here or no they are not-
ARGH- I am hormonal enough already- I want someone to hear my angst..lol
thanks for listening

I am sorry that the doctor's office is giving you a hard time. It is so rude but maybe it is a policy that the doctor enforces. Who knows?

I hope that you hear tomorrow!!

thank you for listening...lol...
I guess its the way she said it-no customer service skills whatsoever-she could have just said I am so sorry, its against policy for me to say even if they are here-some compassion, empathy...not a robot saying the same sentence over and over...
ugh, i have whined so much in the last day I am sick of myself...
this forum is really special- i am so glad to have found it

It could be that they had already turned the phone over to the answering service. If this were the case then they should have told you so rather than lead you to believe that they were just being rude and in a rush to leave the office. You may want to say something to your doctor because ultimately it's the doctor who bears the brunt of any annoyance you feel. I've switched doctors before for lack of loyalty due to their lack of personal interest. I don't need a lot of attention but I do want to be more than a name on a manilla folder. It's a relationship and part of that relationship is with the office personnel.

I'm sorry you didn't get any anwers today.. it's so hard waiting.

Well, now they are telling me it can take up to 2 weeks for the results to come in-sheesh-that seems like an awfully long time-is that normal?

What kind of bloodwork was done? A CBC take a few days to get the results. One of my dr's told me that it took a few weeks. The person drawing the blood told me 2 - 3 days so I called the lab up directly and got the results faxed to the dr. that day and called them back and I had them.

Good luck.

This might make you feel a LITTLE better. ;p

When I called my Dr's office the other day I was put on hold... one of those, "Dr. so-and-so's office. Can you hold?" They put me on hold all right... and left me there for awhile, then disconnected me. When I called back... I got the answering service.

They left me on hold til they closed and switched the phones over.

Neato, huh? :/
