I started using natural progesterone cream and prescription testosterone cream 3 weeks ago for anxiety, low libido and just feeling extremely out of sorts. Emotionally I have improved, but suddenly I am getting acne on my forehead and around my nose (increase oil gland activity) I'm not sure if both may be causing this increase or just the testosterone. I decided to stop the testosterone and see if it may be causing acne. Gee, I've been feeling so much better I hate to go back to the way I was feeling before. Maybe using one or both creams at a lesser frequency may curb the acne. So confusing.

Dear Jan,

Testosterone can cause acne, my free testosterone is too high for me and so I have acne. Perhaps you can cut down on the dosage of the testosterone... Just for your information, it also cases rage and anger issues in some people if they are getting too much!

Jan - I hope you have something figured out by now! But, I just got my progesterone from my compounding pharm. & I was reading my paper that came with it. It says that progesterone can cause acne as well?I no how you feel about not wanting to go back to the way you were. I am just beginning & am hoping I don't get the acne. I already have acne, so lord knows I don't need it any worse!!UGH.

Good luck,
Amber

Testosterone definitely causes acne. It's one of the cardinal signs of too much, in addition to husky voice, male pattern baldness, and hair growing in places it shouldn't.
