I so know this back pain feeling! I use both a regular backpack, but it isn't very fashionable. I also have (two) purse type of handbags - I like them both but one is quite narrow and hence a pain to find stuff inside. I dislike having more than one bag going to work, so this is why I sometimes resort to a regular type of backpack. I don't know it is such a problem and I am forever looking for something nice and big to hold lunch, book, coffee mug and everything else.

I am in so much pain right now. I just got back from the doctor, doing advil every 6 hours, soma as well, and i will take a vicodin tonight. I can hardly move and the nurse there said my purse was too heavy. I haven't had an episode like this for a year so I don't know if my purse is even an issue. But I guess I'll look for a backpack...but the 'healthy back bag' is supposed to be good for back pain...I don't konw...right now, i just want to feel better.

I had this type of thing the last few weeks. I know how you feel. Please let us know what you find. I am interested too.
