Hi Ladies,
It's almost five in the morning here and I can't sleep. I am going to the gynecologist for a battery of tests to determine just what is causing this dryness. (I think I'm low on progesterone) Anyway in doing my research I've noticed that some people say low-dose birth control pills can help for vaginal dryness and others say being on them can cause it. I'm confused. Has anybody found relief from vaginal dryness on BCP's?(I should mention that my estrogen came back normal to high)
Thanks ladies
Tara

I am on seasonique and I dont' see a difference in this dept. I am feeling pretty dry these days and need to use something, but dont' know what to try. I am always fearful of adding meds of any kind. I hope you get some good answers today. Good luck, and if you dont mind sharing your doctors advice, I know I would appreciate it as well.

Hi Enough,
I will post when I get answers. I can't believe I'm going through this at 33. My mom didn't have problems with it until her early fifties and my grandmother until her sixties. My doctor keeps saying oh things like this change. I don't know if it's because he's a man or if he doesn't realize how much I'm suffering with this. I used to work at a pharmaceutical company and we packaged Replens. (who knew I'd be using hem quite so soon...) It's alright I guess. I haven't had hot flashes so I guess I shouldn't complain. I just don't know what to do. If I'm low on progesterone and start taking meds I read that it can actually promote vaginal dryness. On the other hand I know it's important that I have enough progesterone to counter act the estrogen. I can't win.
Enjoy your day
Tara

I went on BCPs several months ago and I did see improvement in vaginal dryness. It helped my dry eyes too and my insomnia. I was on Loestrin24fe. Unfortunately, they began to not work so well after about five months. I'm off them now and the dry vagina and eyes and insomnia is back. Ugh!!

Hi Ladies,
Well I received a call from my doctor today. Apparently my progesterone is normal. Sigh! I'm still going to the gyn though. I think I am going to ask for tests for the next couple of months. I think my hormones must be fluctuating. I was told I was a little low on iron not enough to be anemic but just a bit lower than normal. That may explain the dizzy spells. Anyhoo I've picked up iron supplements from the pharmacy and vowed to include more iron in my diet. If only that was the end to my problem.
Enjoy your day or evening
Tara
