My feet have been giving me bother this last few weeks/months but today really bad. On the right foot it feels like the bones under the smallest two toes are crossed together, it's been like that a while, but it is giving me a hot, tingling pain over the whole foot - I went shopping today with my daughter, lots of walking on concrete..

Dunno whether to heat pack, cold pack, foot bath, or do nothing...!

My feet go thru weird phases of stuff, including symptoms you mentioned. I also have alot of ankle and knee popping (even shoulder)...basically now if my feet or legs feel funny, I'll try to crack my knee till it gets that BIG pop, and then eventually everything feels better. I recently asked my ND, and she suggested trying shoe inserts to help with aligning things, so I'm looking into that now...they seem to be a little on the expensive side, but the 'having to pop' thing is starting to drive me crazy.

My feet hurt so bad the other night I couldn't sleep. I finally put some Ben Gay on them and that helped a bit. I hadn't walked any more than usual and this was just an odd pain and only when I was laying down, not while walking. Plus my toes were ice cold. but not the rest of my feet. Strange!

But if mine were hurting due to walking I think a hot soak would feel good then rub Ben Gay on.

Not sure what "Ben Gay" is but thanks for responses...

I should maybe have mentioned I wear ortho-inserts inside my favourite boots & shoes and was wearing them today, but the ones I have in the boots I had on today are wearing down a bit - time to replace maybe?

My feet have really been bothering me lately too. And, hey! Sometimes in the middle of the night my feet all of a sudden are ice cold, like there's an ice block at the end of the bed! (That's so the opposite of my usual so hot I could die with no covers...) One night I had to get up in the middle of the night and put on socks and another comforter on the lower half of the bed. I've never had anything like it before. A cold flash!?! Oh noooo.

Now, they just feel so achey, like my toe bones are broken.

Yes! I recognise that - I keep feeling my feet to see if there are any unusual lumps or bumps but it seems nothing.

I get the "ice cold" thing as well - but curiously also the toes on both feet burn and tingle (sometimes that goes up my leg too) and also my hands/fingers.

Sometimes all at the same time!

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best:

Soak your feet in warm water and Epsom salts. You will feel reborn!

Dear'ChattyCathy'
Have always worn wool bed socks for years even in Summer.Laugh as you may but honestly they really help with comfort and insomnia.

I also agree with 'Bookworm' about soaking your feet in warm water at the end of a long day.I am on my feet a lot and love high heels so by the end of the day a good foot soak is so soothing. Also wear bed socks.they are very helpful too..

Let's hope for better feet days!

My feet hurt sometimes, and I can't tolerate high heels for long - I sure miss how great they made my legs look though!

I have a bunion on one foot, and that poor foot is the one that always hurts. I wondered if anyone else has gone through the surgery to have a bunion removed. One doctor told me that women tell him it's worse than childbirth. Hmmm. I may go get it done this summer, just so I can have my feet feeling better.

The only shoes I can wear all day and not have hurting feet are my Clarks and they have to be flat with lots of padding and arch support. I have pretty flat feet, and if I'm on them a lot, my lower back starts to hurt. I also need shoes that tie up or have a good strap (like Mary Janes, which don't look too hot with a busines suit!).

I think Sybil Shepherd had the right idea when she used to wear sneakers with her business suits...

She started a fad back in the dark ages. I think the show was Moonlighting? For a while everyone in my office was wearing sneakers to and from work, then changing into their business shoes at their desks. As I recall, there were a lot of happy faces at work....

I had a lot of pain with my feet and lower back...until I started wearing Crocs...the garden ones with the holes in the tops of them...and now I wear them constantly...even dressing up...no more foot pain and lower back pain when wearing them...but if I put something else on my feet, even comfy cozy slippers, the pain starts in again...just my experience...if anyone would like to check them out...they are online as well as in some stores...

Goodness, this is timely! I woke up yesterday with two of my toes on the right foot so sore; one is actually swollen! This is a first, I did not injure my foot. The weird thing is that we were staying at my daughter's home Saturday. She had the sheets tucked in fairly tight and although it felt a bit uncomfortable on my foot, I was too tired and chilly to get up and change it. Next morning, voila' - toe pain! The dr. told me several years ago that I have arthritis in that area so I'm chalking it up to that ... or the attack of the snowmen flannel sheets smile.gif
