Well I got my results today regarding my CT scan of head and all was fine. I was tested because of tingling in extremities. All the blood work came back okay also. Now all of a sudden I felt so tired while I was at my desk and decided to go lay down and when I got up I felt dizzy, sort of. I feel like things are moving and now I am panicking. I ate once today and it was a taco salad around 12 pm. i don't think this is all in my head. I seriously do not feel right. what is wrong with me? I keep geting out of bed to see how I feel and I just feel like things are moving. And it is scaring me. Has anyone ever felt this way...can it be anxiety? or is something seriusly wrong. My fingers feel a bit shaky. Anyone have a cue?

I have this feeling in the morning, but after having my adrenals tested I know that in the morning they are depressed... That said, after taking my temperatore for thyroid monitoring for a week, it averaged 96.5...so that explained my dizziness. It could be related to one of those or it could also be your blood sugar levels. My fingers are also shakey fron the adrenal exhaustion.

Best wishes...

Hunt around google and the posts here for benign positional vertigo. It can very frightening if you don't know what it is. You could think you've had a stroke or a dread disease. Until you have your MD check for it, try this. When you can be left alone for a little while, lie down. You might notice a sense of the room spinning as you do. Lay flat on your back for a while. It may or may not subside. If it does, get up slowly and see if the room starts spinning. Have something nearby to grab. Then, if and when you stabilize, hold on to a counter top or table and move your torso down and up, as though you are unloading a dishwasher. It may come back then. During these moments, you will feel disembodied and as though you are somersaulting through space or that the floor is being tilted in all directions beneath your feet. Very frightening. If you feel nausea, OTC sea-sickness medicine may help.
Please try to be calm and please be well.

Thanks Skee and GillK for replying. As I was resting in bed I had my 7-year-old son bring me a multivitamin and he made me a peanut butter sandwich and after like an hour I felt better. I don't know if it was because I did not eat or what. I think I have been noticing the dizzies lately but not as bad as this episode today...SCARY... Anyway, I feel a bit better now, not 100% but better. I can at least get up and do a few stuff and not feel too bad. Thanks again. I called one of my friends and she told me I need my batteries charged biggrin.gif . I don't have a man. She thinks that is what I need. You think?? huh.gif

I must say I do have this GLOOM AND DOOM lingering over my head with all that I have bene through this week especially. Even though I went to the doctor this week and all of my tests are perfect, this dizzy feeling today just threw me for a loop. It is like, death is around me. I mean I was hugging my son today and telling him I love him and if anything happens to me, his dad will take good care of him. I hate this ...I was supposed to go live with my family for a bit over the holidays but never got around to it because I am waiting for my son to finish out the school year. Living alone and going through this....whatever this is....is horrid. Sometimes I cry and whine like a little girl " I want to go home." How pathetic is that. Am I seriously depressed or is this midlife crap, or is this hormones?????

Hi Bchgrl65,

I've been through something similar, not sure if it is exactly the same but I will tell you about it. I had a case of positional vertigo, and it was awful. Not sure anyone really knows why this can suddenly happen, but it can. It was like I would stand and once I would turn my head to look at something, the room would spin. It left me extremely exhausted, the only time I felt good was after I rested and just layed down. Rest seemed to help.

I had this years ago, and I remember feeling so awful, it lasted (in my case) for 8 months and then it suddenly just went away. Very strange, but I was so glad that it was gone and never has come back like that again. I still get slight dizzy spells but nothing like I had in the past.

What to do? First of all most things that make us dizzy are somehow connected with our inner ear. So try to cut down on any salt, it helps with water retension. Avoid caffiene for awhile and see if that also can help. My doctor also gave me some motion sickness pills, called antivert.

During the time that I got so dizzy, I was also experiencing lots of stress in my life, maybe there is a connection, I also felt lots of anxiety, they all seemed to trigger at the same time. Rest helped the most for me, and in time it vanished. I hope that you will feel much better soon, take good care.

I have had the dizzies or lightheaded feeling as I call it for over 3 yrs now 24/7 to some degree. It seems to be worse around day 4-6 of my cycle then can get bad again around days 9-11 of my cycle just before ovulation should take place. What stage of your cycle are you at now?? I'm sure it's to do with the surge and fluctuations in Estrogen. I read somewhere on this site that Pete Hausseman explained why this can happen, it's something to do with the lowering estrogen level affecting our inner ear balance mechanism in some way but for the life of me I can not find that post now. I wish I had printed it off at the time as it made perfect sense to how I was feeling. Try not to let it worry you too much as I have had this for over 3 yrs solid with no real let up and I'm still alive and kicking, just unsure.gif laugh.gif

What I meant to do up above was to ask you to post the link if you do find it. I have a hunch my dizzies are estrogen-drop-related and would love to read this.

Thanks.

Hi Rox, I am on day 9 of my cycle. I find that around day 8,9,10 I do feel weird. I started keeping track and I notice that I feel crummy around that timeframe. I think that is when am ovulating and I notice a difference around ovulation time.

Hi Juliann, thanks for sharing your experience. I am not sure if it is positional vertigo or not. It is not too often that it happens. I feel so sad that us women go through what we go through. It is just not fair.

I just started getting this way three months ago. I stopped using my estrogen patch and I am better. Still lightheaded though. I have been very ill with it all. VERY scary and nauseating.
