I had been free of palpitations for a long time and then BAM I had the racing pounding heart thing today for atleast 30 minutes. I tried to deep breathe and relax but that was nearly impossible. It started like someone flipped a swtich and stopped just as quickly. I am 40 and I too have had more than one ekg and it always turns out to be OK. I know it's hormonal but I can't wrap my head around that fact. Big hugs to all of you that suffer along with me.

Wendy:
That is exactly as I have described it---just like a switch flipped on and bam----a racing heart. It truly is awful----I, like you, have had EKGs, stress tests, etc. etc.----all show nothing. I have been on BHRT for nearly 2 years and I am much improved---but I still go through periods when it is quite difficult. Have you read the book by Claire Weeks---Hope and Help for your Nerves?? It can be difficult to find---but I have found that when I am most distressed with all of those palps, flip/flops/ sudden racing heart and BAM-BAM-BAM strong palps---I do find quite a bit of comfort in her words......please know you are absolutely not alone......
