Hello everyone. I just found this site today.
I am 43 and mum of a 6 year old boy.
I think Im in peri-menopause, however my gp says it could be or
its probably pcos.
My periods have been wonky since I had my son, longest Ive been
6 mths without a period - my last one was the Xmas week and it
was just a few spots really.
I just would appreciate it if someone could say a list of their related
symptoms.
I also have Fibromyalgia which doesnt help since some of the
symptoms are similar. But I def think Im in Peri.
thanks so much

Welcome to the site severina55. What other symptoms are you having? Can your gyno give you some blood tests to check your hormones? I had the same period situation in peri. You're definitely not too young to be going through it.

Karen

Welcome severina55!
I don't know anything about PCOS or what those symptoms are but Karen is right, you are certainly in the age range of peri. It can last up to 10 years of fluctuating and diminishing hormones reeking havoc in our lives. What other symptoms are you having other than missed periods?

Hi S55,
Nice to have you on board. I always think that Fibromyalgia is as a result of a poorly functioning thyroid and of course that can halt your periods. Try to list some of your worst symptoms and we Peri Menopause sleuths will see if we can recognise any patterns.

Hi severina! Welcome!
There are so many symptoms at this time in our lives. Mine are wonky periods, two a month sometimes, nothing sometimes, and so on. There are the dizzies. The anxiety on high. Fatigue for what seems no reason (Fibro can do this too). Hotflashes, coldflashes. Man there are alot of them.
You will find tons of information here and tons of support. You are definitely not too young for peri. I have been in peri since the age of 36 and am 45 now.
Keep after your doctor or change.
Hugs to you,
Jeaninne

Thank you all so much!!
Ive had blood works done a few years ago and my doctor said I wasnt *in* menopause - also said I was too young which I know is rubbish!
She said it "could" be peri menopause or Pcos.
I asked her for uptodate bloods a few months ago and she said there was no point until I had missed a period for 6 mths, I thought this was rubbish too!
My other symptoms include, sweating, especially face-fatigue-nausea-anxiety-shaking at times-wonky periods-headaches-facial flushing-mood swings-just general not-feeling myself kinda thing.. Im sure I will remember others when I finish here!

I remember a doctor telling me I had pocs but after researching it myself I knew there was no way I could have it...Knowledge is power. Keep trying docs until you find one that works for you and will listen. Your symtoms sound like peri to me.....
Welcome and know your not alone in all of this!

Hi ladies - It's been quite a while since I've been on the site because I've been having great results with this natural product I told you about created by two sisters. Anyway, you definitely aren't too young to be going through menopause. I started in my late 30's. Mhy mom and sister also started young.

Hi,
Do make sure you get a copy of your test results instead of just hearing verbally that your results are "in the normal range." Normal for one doctor or lab is not normal for another. Normal for menopause is not the normal we are looking for.
That way, you have specific data you can research and and bring to another doctor, if necessary.
It seems we women have to figure out and manage our own health care. There is just too much controversy and disagreement amongst doctors for us to rely totally on their expertise.

Just letting you all know that I am *in* peri. Got my results back and my doctor
has confirmed this.
Helping me a little to deal with it, coz Ive know something def wrong with me, not
feeling myself. So at least I know.
