I have been having sharp chest pains lately and at the same time I get a wierd feeling, kind of like a wave or rush of some kind. The feeling only lasts a couple of seconds but scares me to death. I have been having about 5 or 6 a day now. At night when I lay down to sleep it seems to be worse. My Dr. did an EKG and said it was normal. I have pretty normal cholesterol levels and am 51 years old so he thinks my heart is probably ok. He is going to run a stress test if it continues. I have been feeling very hormonal lately. I was just wondering if anyone else gets these episodes. I do have costocondritis, from my ribs to my collarbone and even in my neck I have inflammation and pain. But these pains seem different. I would appreciate your input. I feel like I am losing it, I am so afraid all of the time of all of these wierd symptoms.

I sometimes get a quick pain in the center of my chest and believe or not it's gas. It takes a few minutes and then I burp and feel better. It used ot scare me, but afer visits to the er, and an echostress test, I am more relaxed about it. The weird rush for me is anxiety that comes with the strange physical symptoms. I hope this helped.

I've been having those today. Everytime it happens, it catches me off guard and scares me silly. I'm due for a period so I'm putting two and two together. I also woke up this morning EXTREMELY dizzy. It eventually went away (by lunch). I'm just so tired of this!

If you are seeing a GP/Family doctor, I would suggest a visit to a cardiologist just to make sure this is not Angina or something with your heart that does not necessarily show up on an EKG.

Yes I have had those rushes before and they have to be the scariest thing I have ever experienced. I have run to the dr too. Had an ekg. It was not my heart.
Make sure you keep your blood sugar up. Get your meals in with protien.
If I try to diet by not eating, it is worse. I actually feel worse thin than with a bit of weight on me.
All I can say is that the rushes have come with peri. I am on an AD and it helps a lot.
You are not alone in your scary symptoms.

Hello...I'm new here and can't believe what I'm reading so far. I have all of these symptoms. Sharp chest pain with a feeling of "am I dying." Can't go to doctor because I have no insurance. I'm 62 in April. I'm now wondering if these symptons are just normal for our age? Or....are we all about to have heart attacks? Yeeeks!
