Ok, so here's the scoop and the only place I can share this is PS...you can't see me blushing wink.gif

I have lost my urgent need for sex (which is a precious part of my 30 years married relationship) mostly due to periods that have gone haywire....got quite accustom to a cycle that went: period, sexy momma, pms, period around and around and dependable.....then ms peri showed up and my schedule went south so sex was sporatic tongue.gif

We have been dealing with the wanes and wants as they come, "jumping" on when it's good (double entendre if you will) and cuddling when it 's not....

But this month...BAM....it's Lustful Lucy...don't know what hit me but I feel like a Bordelo Madam and the hubbie is both pleased and taken aback as he does have a manner about him that enjoys the chase I believe smile.gif

Has anyone else had this happen and if so, does it last or is it some last hurray and then I'm chaste and sexless for eternity mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Or maybe, this is what happens when the bothersome, now useless period stops for good and I don't have to calculate out when I'm either fertile or ovulating or pms-ing??????

Thanks sisters and hope this isn't too much information for you.. tongue.gif

That's awesome! Hope it lasts for you, and you and your hubby are randy little devils until you're 90!

Yes I definitely had it at times. It is a normal part of peri and due to fluctuating hormones. Enjoy it while it lasts!
It isn't necessarily over after menopause anyway. Here in the UK there has been lots of articles recently about lustful ladies and their increased libido after menopause. It is all to do with oestrogen dropping and testosterone continuing at the same level for many years before tailing off.
Oestrogen binds up testosterone and reduces libido. Everyone thinks that oestrogen is the hormone of desire but its actually the opposite! So when oestrogen levels drop at meno a lot of women find their libido increasing-so enjoy!! smile.gif

Ahhh that's what I was hoping...that after the fluctuating hormones settle down and the annoyance of periods abates, then the libido chugs along nicely as I always have been a fan biggrin.gif

And the medical world keeps coming up with all the reasons why sex is good for you, why not go for it? tongue.gif

Momz,

Your post made me laugh. I could remember a time a few years ago when I was completely in peri, my libido was "crazy" one month I would be lighting candles and wearing all the sexy nighties, it seemed out of control. Then my moods would suddenly shift and I would ditch the candles and wear my flanels to bed. mad.gif

This phase seemed to go on for a while, maybe a year or so. Currently I am wondering WHERE those wonderful feelings have gone??? I just don't seem to "feel" that wonderful desire in months! My periods are skipping and this past year I only had two periods all year. I'm hopeful that once the peri is done and my body shifts, maybe some of that will come around again. It's sad to me that some of us lose that ability to "feel" the desire.

So I agree with the others, enjoy all of this while it lasts.

Oh, yes... I fondly remember those surges.... tongue.gif

Its been years....

Of late, like yesterday, I was panting all day....

Even mentally entertaining a brief encounter with someone not my spouse...(we are on the outs)

I got through the day by exercising away the urge....

Hahah, funny you mention the fantasy element....I have a dad (divorced) who comes into my office to pick up his kids once a week and he is soooo cute and flirts like a dog with me....even my office mate has noticed...so this month, while my libido was flying high, he comes in and whammo...I'm acting like a school girl....and he's doing it back!

So today he came in, I can't even look at him and I can feel him looking at me....hopefully, he saw the bouquet of flowers hubbie had sent in for V Day and he stops his teasing ways biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Just what I need, a Mrs Robinson story....but he is charming....(fanning myself)....and my storyline may likely be all in my imagination conjured up by my misbehaving hormones and he sees me as that helpful woman in the office dry.gif ...

Lucky hubbie...he gets the results of Mr. Dad's flirting biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Heheheh....this reminds of the stories I've heard recently about elderly people in nursing homes getting it on with each other. Their adult children are horrified 'Wha....they're OLD!!!! They shouldn't be doing that! That's gross!" But I say WHY NOT?! If they are still ready, willing and able at that age I say go for it. I'm like momzoffour...have always been a fan of the activity, and hopefully always will be.
