Ok, on top of everything else that is going on with me (muscle pain in arms and chest discomfort), I am experiencing FREEZING cold hands - not constantly - but when they turn cold - oh my gosh! They truly are FREEZING! I've had cold flashes at times too- but this is not that. I just will be sitting doing "normal stuff" (not in a cold environment) and my hands just turn so cold and they will stay that way for quite a while! Anyone have this?
I had my thyroid checked recently and it was fine. Is it likely horomones or is it possible it's related to poor circulation? Of course, my mind is going crazy with the chest and muscle stuff and I envision my heart is not working well and that's cutting off blood supply?! Then, I try and get rational and say if that was the case, wouldn't they be cold all the time?
I just need to "share" and see if anyone can relate. I should say too I've had an EKG and my heart is fine. Thanks all, Kathleen

Dear'kathleent'
I think I was probably born with cold hands.Have to rub them a lot or sit on them to warm up. I also have no Thyroid problems and think my circulation is pretty good as do a lot of exercise
However,I do remember my late father suffering from this same complaint.
My feet are another Arctic area but hands are worse.
If you are really worried and this is a new symptom for you have it checked out to put your mind at rest.Anxiety can play so many tricks on us.
God Bless

I just went off to get my handwarmers before I came online so I can really sympathize. This winter I must of knit 4 pairs of these (and thick socks) to keep around the house because my hands (and feet) get achingly cold. Also, try small cotton bags filled with rice warmed in the microwave for two minutes. These are great in a pocket or at the foot of the bed.
No one ever mentioned the cold thing until I found this site. It hasn't been as bad lately but before I would get so cold in the evening as I settled down that I would have to get up and take a really really hot shower to stop the shivering.
So if you get cold just do what you need to do to get warm.
There was a pattern for simple knit handwarmers in February's Martha Stewart Living magazine.

my doc told me my blood test came out that my blood was a "little bit thick" and to do baby asprin therapy for circulation due to my fingers frozen at times when they certainly should not be

kathleen - lately for me it has been my feet!!!! They are so cold all the time! It has been in the 70's here and I am the only one running around with thick socks and boots - I wonder if it is anxiety related? I had a panic attack the other night (first in a lonnnnnnggggg) time and that is when it started!
Hang in there - I am sure this too will pass...

I've been having a terrible time with cold hands, especially my right one. It's also been tingling and has a slight sensation of burning. And my arm has been hurting too. It hurts when I touch it in different spots. It's all so strange. I was checked for carpal tunnel 2 weeks ago and I don't have that. I'm going to see a vascular dr. on 4/7. I've developed a problem with my big toe on my left foot. It gets cold and numb in the cold and it turns white. I've had nerve and vascular tests done by the podiatrist and all was normal but that's not possible. I even took a picture with my cell phone. I will discuss all of this with vascular dr. Oh, and my left foot started tingling on and off too. Every day I wake up to something new. Yesterday my right eye had several deep red lines in it..more than normal. What adventures I'm having.
Kathleen, I sure hope you start feeling better soon. It's enough to drive us crazy all this stuff.
Hugs,
Karen

Hi everyone,
I have gone from being really hot and dripping wet through, wet hair.....not nice, sweat pouring down my back etc etc to being REALLY cold....like an ice block. The thermostat is on 27 degrees C and I'm freezing! My hands and feet get so cold my fingers and toes turn blue!I'm not like that all the time, fortunately, it just comes and goes throughout the day and night. I've been checked out for every disease known to man and I know it's just the menopause......I'm hoping it's in its last throws before it gives up, I've been suffering now for about 8 long years. I'm not letting it get me down anymore, IT WILL go away. Keep your spirits up girls! Together we will get through.

I too get very cold hands.....but my feet are absolutely fine....they used to get cold, but not now.
I thought that it is maybe my thyroid, but after reading Kathleen's and others post, I don't think it is...just poor circulation???...I too exercise a lot, so that is not the cause.
