Hi, my husband died 3 years ago. My periods stopped then and there. I have been spending a lot of time with my friend and I have fallen in love with him wub.gif . The last 3 months I have had sore breasts and nipples and a small amount of vaginal bleeding. mad.gif It is dark and it lasts for about 5 days. What is going on? Am I producing more hormones now because of my feelings for my friend? unsure.gif There is no sexual activity. Should I be worried?

Wheat - welcome to Power Surge and first let me send my my sincere condolences on your loss - what a terrible and tough time you must have had.

You do not mention your age but the first thing that came to my mind was cessastion of menses due to Post Traumatic Stress.....it is very common when a person is subjected to shock, trauma or grief....the sudden stopping of your periods due to losing your husband could have caused this. I have read of woman going thru the holocaust at very young ages have periods stop only to have them return years later when the stress levels returned to a more normal state.

It sure sounds like you are back to living life and thank goodness for that - and it does appear that your body may be going back to where it left off....I sure hope so for that would be the healthiest indication that you have survived your ordeal in good shape.

My money is on no worry here - just make an appt with a doc you trust and tell your story....get all the right tests and continue to move on with the life you deserve and can pursue with passion..

Let us know how you are okay?

Dear'wheatfields'

Am truly sorry over the death of your husband. It must have been very traumatic. This possibly caused the stopping of your periods. However,I am no Doctor but would advise a visit to your Gyno. to get a full hormonal profile to see exactly where you stand

Am very happy that love is entering your life again.I really hope all goes well
Please stay in touch

Warm Wishes
Elizabeth
