OK, I am not worried, but I am just here to vent and complain. I have tmj and, or arthritis of the jaw and I am in a flareup and just am feeling sorry for myself. You dont' have to respond, I just needed to let it out. Sleeping on the left side is miserable, my ear really hurts, then the right side makes the left side of my neck pull and that hurts as well. My temples feel like they are being squeezed and my neck, shoulders and arms hurt, even the tingling in the fingers is here. I can barely open my mouth, they say to open it at least three finger widths or more is good, two is painful. I guess I have been clenching alot in my sleep this week and the muscles are really tight. I tried a neurodentist whose treatment and supposed cure for this is $6,500. Well, without dental insurance this is very cost prohibitive to say the least. I guess soft foods, hot compresses and maybe a xanax or two to relax the muscles may be in order.

Thanks for listening. I know so many people have a lot worse and I shouldn't be complaining about such a small thing, but I needed to and thank you for letting me be here.

I wish all of you reading this a good day.

I suffer from TMJ also...so I know what you are going through!
When mine flares up, I find that taking a high dose of ibuprofen, 800 mg every 6 to 8 hours, does help. The xanex to relax is also a good idea...and foods you don't have to chew!

So sorry you are in such pain...hope you feel better soon!

Hugs,
Di

Thanks for your answers. As the day goes on it is still there. I thought once I got busy working it would feel better, but it is still pretty bad. I hate to take anything, so I am resisting and will start heating pads tonight when I am relaxing. thanks so much.
