I received my Emerita cream on Thursday and I have been using it faithfully since then.
I cannot quite believe this but my hot flushes are almost gone today!
I have been trying to bring on a hot flush by thinking about it (you know how you can if you try hard enough?)
It won't happen! The only one I have had today is after two glasses of red wine this evening. laugh.gif

I will keep you posted. I am also trying using it around outside of vagina for atrophy. I checked with Bellevue (who actually recommend it on this site )and they said if it doesn't irritate me then go for it. I will let you know what happens. I was using estriol cream but it makes me feel ill so I am giving it a break.

Wow! Thanks for that information. Keep us posted because I might suggest this to my friend who is having hot flashes and other estrogen deficient problems... She's trying to go with herbs but I'm sure she would try this if I suggested it...

Yes I will keep you posted.
The beauty of this is that it doesn't have to be taken as a pill. I find all the herbal things upset my stomach but you just rub this in-and so far no side effects smile.gif

Update on Emerita

I have now been using this for a week and my hot flashes are virtually gone. It is great stuff and I recommend it!
I checked with the pharmacy and asked if it would be ok to use it around outside of vagina as I cannot tolerate estriol. I am using Replens internally but it doesn't seem to fix the outside.
I was told as long as it doesn't irritate it would be fine. I have been using it every day around that area and I am totally fixed. It seems to have all the effects of estriol without the side effects. It's great stuff and I would definitely recommend it! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

can this be purchased without a prescription?

Thanks Janet. I will tell my friend about this product. Perhaps she would be willing to give it a try... I'd imagine you can get it at the Health Food Store...

The same company also makes a personal moisturizer that seems to do wonders for the outside of the vagina. I use it regularly and now thanks to this board - using it & the vitamin e suppositories I am having no -- that's no -- dryness issues. Yahoo!

The products are all by Emerita and they do vaginal moisturiser (which I also have), phytoestrogen , bodycream and natural progesterone.
I live in UK so I had to buy it online from US. I am not sure if you can buy it in health food stores. If you go to the Bellevue pharmacy part of site there are details of the product endorsed by Pete Huseman and a link to it from there.
Here is the link direct to the website although I don't know if it will work from here?

Hi Janet,
Did you have to pay import tax? as you sent off to America for this.In the past I've had to pat import tax for items over £25.... I'm from the UK too. How long did it take to reach you? I'd be grateful for a reply.

That should read I've had to pay import tax!!! My brain today!

Hi
No I didn't have to pay import tax but I think it depends which country you are in.
If you click on the link I gave you and have a look around the site I think it tells you which countries have to pay import tax
It arrived very quickly-within a few days. It seems like a reputable site.
I have had to stop using the phytoestrogen cream by the way-it started to make me feel awful. The vaginal moisturiser is fine.

Hi Janet,
Thanks for the reply. I might just try the moisturiser.
