I absolutely thought the same as you! I racked my brains trying to think what else I had been doing. I had stopped soy capsules ages before(which made me tearful also) and wasn't going near any HRT.
Of course at first I thought it was just an expensive face cream and actually didn't give it another thought. I was looking for an improvement in my skin but nothing more. It was only when I was half way thru my second pot. I started crying all the time and yes-even my hubby noticed my hot flushes were more frequent and prolonged.
The only thing I could think of was the cream. I was still sceptical but because of all the stuff on this thread I stopped it for a few days and all the symptoms stopped.
Well I still have half of the second pot left so I could try again and see what happens but I am pretty sure it was that.

Hi Janet-
I'm pretty sure you're right. I was using Strivectin neck cream which contains "hydrolyzed soy protein," which as it turns out is the precursor compound in the production of both natural estrogen and progesterone; and topical progesterone accumulates in tissue to a greater extent than does estrogen, according to my doctor. I sought help for what I thought was perimenopause and my saliva tests came back with an elevated progesterone level. I stopped using it about a month ago and my symptoms of anxiety, depression, hot flashes, etc. are getting some better, but it has been hell. My doctor is putting together some type of treatment with BHRT to counteract the accumulated effect of the progesterone.
These companies need to be completely honest about what they are marketing, especially to those of us in our 30's, 40's and 50's. I'd much rather have my sanity than an unlined face, I tell you that. I read labels routinely, but they're getting really slick in how they hide it, or they list it, but don't provide a warning for it. It's heinous.
