Seems like maybe a hormonal thing just happened. laugh.gif Glad its done.

Anyhoo, Ive been following this thread and yesterday DID look at the regenerest cream at Wal-Mart yesterday. I almost bought some but at $23.00 for a teeny bottle I just couldnt do it, now I kind of wish I did. If it works its worth it whether its for the skin or anything else. Maybe Ill see if I could get it cheaper at Sams Club.

Helen,
Dont bother. I bought the cream last week and it doesn't do anything. It's just a face cream, just like any other face cream! rolleyes.gif

Helen: It is usually two for 37.00 in Sam's Club -- so a little bit cheaper there. :-)

Nc: A bit mystified on the "lovey dovey" subject. What's wrong with saying it's a face cream (if that's what you're referring to)? It IS a face cream, and doesn't claim to be any more or less. I like using it; I like face creams. lol

To quote our good friend Leanne - "IT IS WHAT IT IS" laugh.gif A face cream biggrin.gif
pookish
ok people

I bought it - the little red jar - first night put it inside wrists and elbows. Thought I felt a wee bit better in the AM. In the morning put it on face (for those who are sensitive to fragrance this is a whopper! ohmy.gif) Anyway the second morning after following the same PM process I woke up feeling the same old agitation.

For those who had success with this for am jitters - did it happen over time? or instantaneously?

Anyway I believe my face looks a bit better already - "not for nothin'" as they say.

Yes-had to stop using it myself. I kept bursting into tears and it took me a while to join the dots. ohmy.gif
I so dislike the way it affected me (it took two pots before I realised) that I am reselling my third brand new pot on Ebay!

Do you bathe in it or something, Janet? laugh.gif tongue.gif

laugh.gif laugh.gif It doesn't take long to use a pot if you are using twice a day as I was! I have a lot of work to do on my skin ohmy.gif
I am back to No 7 Protect and Perfect now and when I have used up that I am going on to the new wonder version Refine and Rewind. Its had fantastic reviews! I don't know if our US ladies can get it.

Yeah, Janet, we can get the Boots products at Target in the U.S. I haven't tried them, though. You'll have to let us know how the rewind one works after you start using it. I tend to always use either Olay, Neutrogena or Clarins. I still remain the eternal skeptic -- I will never believe any of the moisturizers have some sort of hormonal effect. :-)

I absolutely thought the same as you! I racked my brains trying to think what else I had been doing. I had stopped soy capsules ages before(which made me tearful also) and wasn't going near any HRT.

Of course at first I thought it was just an expensive face cream and actually didn't give it another thought. I was looking for an improvement in my skin but nothing more. It was only when I was half way thru my second pot. I started crying all the time and yes-even my hubby noticed my hot flushes were more frequent and prolonged.
The only thing I could think of was the cream. I was still sceptical but because of all the stuff on this thread I stopped it for a few days and all the symptoms stopped.
Well I still have half of the second pot left so I could try again and see what happens but I am pretty sure it was that.

Hahahaha - I bought some because of this thread as well! Olay should be paying commission! I didn't notice any effects from it other than I like it as a face cream. When I first applied it, I thought it was going to be greasy, but after the massaging it recommends you do, it dries and is completely non greasy, which I like.

Hi Janet-

I'm pretty sure you're right. I was using Strivectin neck cream which contains "hydrolyzed soy protein," which as it turns out is the precursor compound in the production of both natural estrogen and progesterone; and topical progesterone accumulates in tissue to a greater extent than does estrogen, according to my doctor. I sought help for what I thought was perimenopause and my saliva tests came back with an elevated progesterone level. I stopped using it about a month ago and my symptoms of anxiety, depression, hot flashes, etc. are getting some better, but it has been hell. My doctor is putting together some type of treatment with BHRT to counteract the accumulated effect of the progesterone.

These companies need to be completely honest about what they are marketing, especially to those of us in our 30's, 40's and 50's. I'd much rather have my sanity than an unlined face, I tell you that. I read labels routinely, but they're getting really slick in how they hide it, or they list it, but don't provide a warning for it. It's heinous.

Well that is very interesting!
The thing is some people don't notice any side effects from these products and others do! If you look at this very long thread there are a large proportion that have noticed an effect from the Olay but then you have to wonder if it is a placebo effect.
I really still wonder if it was something else causing my bad effects because it is awful to think that a face cream could be doing it!
Well I am NOT using mine any more because I am pretty sure it was that.
