Hi,

I have been on the climara patch .075 and prometrium 200 mg following ovary removal in November. I feel wonderful on the BHRT, except that I have had spotting or very light bleeding everyday, for two months. My doctor wants to see me in another month to see if my body becomes accustomed to the hormones. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I taking too much or too little? Will this eventually stop? Do I need to try another form of BHRT? Any advice would be appreciated!

Yes can relate to this one.When I was switched to another Hormonal Preparation I had break out spotting and bleeding for about two months

When I first reported it to Gyno.he did some Tests,all well but he did up the estrogen and since then the spotting has stopped.It is probably a case of tweaking the dose

P.S. I take synthetic HRT,as have no access to BHRT in this country.

I am taking the Prometrium everyday, (I still have a uterus).

I had this happen while taking 2mg estrace and 100mg prometrium every day. The estrogen was too high. I have since switched to Divigel .5mg and still using 100 mg prometrium and have not had any spotting since. Hope this helps. I was told by doctors the high dose of estrogen was the problem.

Hope you are able to find the right dosage that works for you, but it is always best to check with your doctor to rule out any other problems.

It could be due to taking the P every day, which you do not need to do. A lot of women just take it once every couple months to induce a bleed. And 200 mg/day seems high to me compared to the dose of E you are on.
