I've been to more than 2 doctors in the past 2 years for palpitations. I went again today to a different doctor. She has ordered an EKG (already done and normal), an echocardiogram and a 30 day holster monitor. She also ran blood tests on my thyroid (no results yet). She is turning out to be a nice doctor that isn't brushing me off.

I have had a regular doctor that just tells me everything is fine, it's normal (I hope it is) and I've been to an urgent care where the doctor told me I was a nut case and should be put on anti-depressants and to stop reading any medical information.

Has anyone else had the 30 day holster monitor? I'm not sure I want to wear it for that long but I will do what I have to at this point to know that I have a healthy heart.

The 30 day event monitor is the best, since often the 24-hour one won't catch enough palps, if any. Many women do the 24 hour one and get upset because of course, when they need the palps to happen so that there's proof, there's often not one palp, or there's so few that the doc doesn't know why they are so upset about them.

((((((((tela)))))))))) I had the same issues with palps for over 3 years now - long story. I just had the event monitor on for 3 weeks. When you feel the palps you press the record button or area. They give you a number to call after you record something and you transmit it over the phone. It's easy to wear and you can take it on and off for showering and stuff. Just make sure you do not put the sticky electrode (I think that's what it's called - brain fog) on the same area over and over again...move them around a bit. It actually looked like I got burned as I put them on the same spot. No one in the dr's office told me not to do that. The dr's office called me weekly with the results. I also had the echocardiogram too...it's a very simple test too. Keep us posted.

Hugs,
Karen
