YES - I do. I will get a glimpse of myself every once in awhile passing a mirror or window and I do the same thing. After I see that, I make a conscious effort to smile, but it doesn't last very long. In fact, when I look at where my wrinkles are, they are at those frown places. To make matters worse, I have developed a nervous tick where I scrunch my mouth all up and bite my upper lip. Just like some old toothless lady.
EEK - someone save us!

I use to deliberately scout out women about my age, just to see the expression on their faces and 99 times out of 100 I can honestly say they looked like the walking dead!! I'd say to myself, "Yep, there's another one!" hehehe and no it's not funny!! hehehe
One word: Botox. It took away the scowl and makes the upper face look rested and younger.

Boy it is scary when I don't even ned to look in the mirror..I can feel it. When I do look in the mirror every frown line seems like a canyon and I have many times looked into my eyes and just stood there for awhile and I finally ask "where are you......where did you go...come back" The fatigue and sadness seems to have taken over the twinkle I once had. Yes, I definately look like a sad angry woman when I see myself in the mirror!
That botox is beckoning...I turn 50 next year and I want to enter it looking and feeling younger, NOT older....anyway looking younger will make me less 'angry' with myself and the world.

I go through phases of feeling isolated, angry, bored....and it immediately shows up on my face...
I am attempting to stay more aware of it...
I miss feeling lightness of being....

Do I need to come through this computer and B slap every one of you? How DARE you say you look like a tired old hag!!! Shame on you. You are beautiful! ALL of you! Every single on of those little lines on your face is a courage line and you should be PROUD of them. All the laugh lines, all the frown lines make up who we are and what we have not only victoried over in life but also what we have celebrated in life! For the first time in my LIFE I look in the mirror and actually think I look pretty! Stop throwing things at me! I AM trying to help! But seriously girls, Meno is a rebirth, right now it's coccoon stage but at the end we are beautiful butterflies!!! So powder up them wrinkles, get out there and show em off!

Dear'Texasgirl'
It is that honey, just a feeling and nothing more.Swear to God I have seen ladies well into Middle Age with their inner sun just shining through as opposed to a sulky petulant Teenager who spoils her prettiness with her frowns.
Yes I have felt that way too but then I will make the effort to go to the Salon, get my roots done, maybe have a different hairstyle And if I am feeling flush will have a manicure and pedicure too.these may seem trivial but they do really boost the inner and outer morale.
So use that pretty smile.Sometimes when I am deep in though I have what my daughter refers to as 'my gloomy look'!
All the best

Nice One Ladybugs!
And thank you!Tend to avoid the powder as it has a way of settling into the crevices!
But you are right. We have laughed, lived, loved and cried.Do we really want to have totally smooth unatural faces?
Warm Wishes

Yes ladybugs you are right......You know funny thing is I was getting ready this morning and as I am putting makeup on and checking out my figure and saying the usual neg. thinbgs I say and stopped and remembered someone said God does not want me preoccupied with every little thing I can find wrong with myself that woild be a waste wouldn't it.....I do art work and use things in nature to make a point in life and I use verses fron the BIble for inspiration and sometines I write my own thoughts into a poem of some sort and here is what I wrote this morning..True beauty comes from within and will never subside, it is the gentle and quiet spirit abiding inside....so this corrected my thinking this morning now if I can just keep this in the forfront of my mind.....HUGS Mikki

Thanks to all of you for adding your comments. Ladybugs....thank you for giving me a little "kick". I needed that!
This morning, I don't even want to look in the mirror. YUK! I feel 10 years older when I see myself. My husband is 7 years older than me and I used to look so much younger than him. Now we have matching wrinkles! I'm going take some time for myself today and I'll try to keep a smile on my face. Have a good day everyone!
