The sun that shines on our heads, and lifts our hearts!

The smiles of the elderly and babies - they resemble each other, little bald heads and no teeth. smile.gif

The dedication of millions who choose to go into caring professions, where they are paid low wages, but give with all their souls.

The attempts of people from different cultures as they laughingly try to decipher each other's language and seek common ground.

The sheer beauty of oceans, mountains, lakes, rivers, moors, deserts, forests.

Our earliest ancestors who faced terrifying circumstances to bring us to where we are.

The words of the Sisters who kept me from committing myself to a psychiatric facility during the most frightening time of my life, and their long sustained friendship and good wishes in the recovery phase.

Can you share other things that make you want to throw your arms open, and say, as Feist does in her lovely song, "I Feel It All?!" wub.gif

Okay, let's see what I love about the world today:

Last night my 5-year-old grand-girl called to say she lost her first tooth, and I was sad! Can't let go of our Tula-baby! happy.gif She is so, so proud to be becoming a "big girl" - remember that feeling? She said, "I wiggled it, then twisted it around and around and then just yanked." laugh.gif

The woodstove is puttering, and it throws off the sweetest heat.

My love put the coffee water on this morning.

There are millions of people in the world who are smiling right at this moment. smile.gif

I know there are hard things... we visit the vet later this morning with a kitty whose time is limited. At the same time that there are people smiling, there are people crying. And yet... should one take primary residence in our hearts at the expense of the other? Why do we allow ourselves so much time to fret, and so little time to express joy? Life is a bittersweet mish-mosh.

Of course, it would not have been possible to start a thread called "The Beautiful Big Blue Marble" a few years ago. That's required being POST-menopausal. tongue.gif

And so. smile.gif

I have had many "throw open my arm moments" Here are just a few to start....

Always that first Robin I see in the Spring and oddly enough that first Snowbird I see in Winter.
It must be because I love all seasons and feel blessed to experience them.

When I look out my kitchen window and see the finches and cardinals and woodpeckers feasting on the food we've provided.

Nature of all sorts, this has been my refuge during the draining years of menopause. I can always go into the woods and even thru tears find some beauty there. I thank God for the Woods.

My first cup of coffee this morning biggrin.gif

My phone call yesterday from my 2 1/2 year old Delaney...that little voice that got on the phone to say "Hi Nana, you cutie pie" this from a beautiful little girl who has the ability to make a very old frumpy feeling 55 year old feel "WONDERFUL"

(((((((JJ)))))) Thank you for starting this thread, we need that reminder to count our blessings each and every day

wub.gif wub.gif Fin

joliejacq
Fin, I just noticed your tag line about the brook having no song if it wasn't for the rocks. So beautiful! wub.gif And you know, you ARE a cutie-pie! smile.gif

Jonie, chocolate and coffee together! You know how to live, girl! happy.gif

Barbara, if your dad was also a CW musician, you know how hearing an old song can bring him right smack back into your heart. When my dad first passed away, it was too painful to listen to any CW music. Now, it just makes me feel closer to him. What a gift they gave us, the music of the people! smile.gif

(((HUGS))) and good day!

Gee Finola, you could be my twin! I feel the exact same way you do in regards to being with nature of any kind. I also LOVE the woods, this is where I find my peace. I love watching the birds gather around my feeder by the kitchen window and feeding the wild turkeys that come by now and then. I love spending time with my grown daughters and grandchilren....they bring me all the joy in the world!!
finola
Joey, (((((((((Hugs))))))))))) fellow nature lover. Isnt it great to go into the woods and just relax. Me too smile.gif I find great peace there. I'd love to hear about your nature adventures anytime. We feed the Deer and Turkeys in Winter...esp the years that the acorns are scarce and this Winter is one of those. Today it's in the mid 40's, lots of sunshine and a nice breeze. I was outside sitting in a lawn chair and looked up at the blue skies at our tall Hemlock trees swaying in the wind. This is life I thought to myself. No matter how bad a day has been, I can always find solice in nature around me. Nature and our children and grandchildren, the best of life!! I'm happy to meet you Joey

JJ, That is so cute what Tula said "just yanked" biggrin.gif Thats your Tula JJ... such a brave little girl. How can she be 5 already? The joy is that there will be so many milestones just like this one. Some with a bit of sadness because they grow up so fast, but so many beautiful days to share with your 2 sweet girls. I didnt know your dad was a country western musician. My Mom and Dad loved Hank Williams. Hope your kitty got a good vet report. (((((((((((Hugs)))))))))

Hello to everyone else ((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))) to all. Love reading your happy thoughts!!

JJ, My dad loves nothing more than to sing and dance..................and eat cake and icecream! hehe

And this is one of the songs that I remember so well him singing.

As a matter of fact, you couldn't carry on a conversation with dad because no matter what the subject was, he would always find words to sing a song relating to the subject.

He was so funny!

I have to admit (and very shamefully so) that his constant humming and singing now get on my nerves.

Please hurry up, POST!!
RedFox
JJ, what a lovely thread! I enjoyed all the videos immensely, as well as your thoughtful comments. You do SO much to lighten hearts and bring out the best in everyone. I feel SO fortunate to have gotten to know you. wub.gif

What I love:

That you've all posted such great stuff.... wub.gif

That Finola managed to get a picture of a bear in her backyard this past year...

That Ellen loves music so much, she keeps finding these amazing links....

That Alice has been my friend here since '03, and has taught me a lot about her beautiful country...

That Redfox has such sweetness (and gorgeous hair)...

That EP has an amazing sense of humor...

That Leanne is so darned optimistic...

That Tidalwave's dad broke into song at odd times, just like mine...

That Joey knows the mysticism of the woods...

That there are kind people like Tara in the world...

That meeting Arla was like reconnecting with a lost twin...

That Jonie peppers her posts with smilies.... tongue.gif

That Barbara remembers the old country songs...

That today would be my dad's 81st birthday, if he were still here. wub.gif
