Hey girls, I am writing this to ask for prayers for my Dad. So many of you have attributed prayer to illnesses and surgeries, etc and have said it helps. My Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer right before Christmas. He goes "under the knife" tomorrow morning, and I am 750 miles away. Any prayers, or positive thoughts you can spare for him would be appreciated.

It's just after midnight here and I know your two hours behind because I used to live in Calgary. It's almost bedtime for me and I pray every night and will say a special prayer for your father. I wish him a safe operation and a speedy recovery

It was a long and worrying kind of day. My dad went in for his surgery at 10:45am my time, and should have been done by 3pm at the latest and back in his room by 4 or 4:30pm. My sister finally phoned my step mother's cell phone at 6pm because we hadn't hear anything. My father was not back in his room, he was still in recovery and my stepmother was very concerned. She finally phoned me at 8:30pm to tell me everything was fine. Whew! He was held up in the recovery room because their were 8 ORs going today and they were very busy in the recovery room. She said he was alert, and coherent. He had a pain med pump to use and did need it while she was there. I imagine the next few days will be very uncomfortable for him. So now we just wait for the pathology report and hope his cancer has not spread....and that this is all he has to endure.

You need to share these things and get them off your chest girl! Anyway, I'm so very glad to hear hes out of surgery and doing well. So far as the prayers, consider it done..

Rendy, I am glad to hear your mom got well so quickly. And I think you are right.

My Dad got home from hospital on Saturday morning. I talked to him on the phone and he was in remarkably good spirits. He said he felt quite well, was happy to be home and only really had pain when he coughed. That is quite remarkable.

I believe that all of your prayers and good wishes must have helped him. So to each and every one of you, I thank you!!

Floater I'm so sorry that I'm late in reading this post, But I will continue to pray for your Dear Father and his recovery.... I'm so glad to know he's doing o.k. And Again I apologize for being late with this post....
