Just got off the phone with my mother who had been talking with my Sister in law over weekend who feels i'm not going thru peri, that this is all related to my nose surgery I had back in April. I do not think so and neither does my nose doctor. Why does everyone think this is all stress related?? Doesn't explain the periods that last over a month at a time.
Now my family has me thinking i'm going crazy again.

I get it from some of my family, too. The looks that let you know without saying a word that they think it's more in my mind, than body. I think its both, some kind of cycle that causes my physical symptoms, which cause me anxiety, which make my physical symptoms worse, which cause MORE anxiety, etc. My very sweet, well-meaning grandmother actually told me that in her day they didn't run to the doctor for everything and they never got sick and maybe I just needed to stay busier. I have three little kids, a husband who doesn't know how to use a stove, broom or washing machine, two dogs, a house to keep up, family to deal with and the list goes on and on. I also worked from home until recently when I had to quit because of absolute exhaustion! I think a lot of people think because they can't see the problem or it hasn't gotten an official diagnosis from a medical doctor (most of whom I think wouldn't know how to begin to even determine this) that its not there. Its a terrible feeling to not have the support you need. I'm sure this is the exact reason this website was created and why so many women have found their way here!

Thank you both for your kind responses. It is very disheartening to have everyone not listen to you, or diagnose you. Think that 40 is too young to be starting this.... I just talked to another woman Saturday night who told me her mother was completely finished at 41! So it's not impossible.
Thanks again!
